Followup question, if there are few enough samples/vocals that we're able to cut all of the vocals out (without completely ruining the song of course), is that ok?
If you can find a way to remove the vocals/samples out of a song or replace a singer's voice with, for example, a tuba or piano, then that would be magical and I would heartily approve of your time to edit the audio in such a way with witchcraft. Wink

Also, to make this interesting, I'm adding something to [Voiceless Week] voting.
Whoever makes the simfile with the highest number of points will get to choose a theme of their choice for an upcoming week of Summer Contest 2016. Winner will pm me what they wish the week's theme to be and I'll post it on here when the time comes, so it'll replace whatever I had in store for you guys, but I feel like this would make things more interesting.

Just to clarify, here is an example:

User 01 would be the winner of the side event, even though User 03 has more points total for the week because of two simfiles. The simfile with the highest pts is the winner of this little side event for that week to be able to pick the theme later. You may still submit two files in chances that one of them gets higher points than the rest.

If the winner doesn't want to pick a theme, then they may refrain from this "prize" of sorts. Prize is not transferable. You either pick a theme or you don't. In case you don't, I'll have a theme for that week.


Remember...the Summer Contest is for fun. Having more points than someone else or not, this contest is for more reasons than to simply win. It helps get feedback at times, gets you noticed (maybe people will look for your simfiles later if they like what you do), and helps challenge you to get the brain working with these different themes you might have not thought of (or you possibly could have, but needed motivation, like Summer Contest!). Branch out from what you normally do! You might like it. You might not. But why not try, right?

This round makes me realize how many songs I've stepped with vocals over the years; cool theme.

Thank you for the HMs and a few points, in regards to the speed changes being unmarked I had done that because I wanted to make below strictly DDR styled but the lesson here is that I'm not doing that anymore, sorry! If you said something about the patterns, thank you so much since that'll be even better in the long run.

But now that you mention it, I'll make it clearer in the original post. Thank you.

Edit: I removed the word "human". My mistake. It was meant to be a saying, but it got lost in translation. Forgive me.

It is now this:
"If I so hear a voice in your submission, then that simfile will be taken down and you'll be DQ'd this round."

Don't do this to me. We can have one round without vocaloids. Please.

To be serious, the modern vocaloids are simply highly editable voice banks. I'm unsure if the super-early "mricosoft sam"-esque ones are, but the vocaloids we know of now are. I believe one of the singers was Lia.

Well my intention was to make a cut of a song that has a sample or two to skip those parts so sadly witchcraft wasn't my intention but if I find myself really bored this weekend tubafying a song sounds like a blast.

If you remove your simfile before deadline because you find an issue, then it's ok, but please take time to check your own simfile before uploading it. If anything, ask yourself before even starting the simfile "does this have a vocal/sample?".

You only get DQ'd when voting begins.
When that time comes, there is no mercy.
