It was a total mixup on my part, I kept a folder of DDR style judgefonts, and I accidentally saved the one from the SN3 theme as just "DDR SuperNOVA", forgetting to add the 3. When I came back to it, I had not realized the error and went by filename. It certainly wasn't intentional. I will remove it.

You can just rename it. The only warning I'm giving you is that this is the old font. The new one can be found in the Alpha 4 release of the theme that came out a day or two ago.

This is rather demanding of you considering that bLOOdSAW is making these judgment fonts in his spare time. It's not as though he's getting paid to make them and is under any sort of obligatory time constraint. Have you considered making it, yourself?

Sheesh, the next thing you know you'll be opening 60 unique issues on StepMania's GitHub issue tracker over the span of just two months...

This is a valid question, but you already requested and received both Gill Sans and ScoreWeights. You requested them, and they were made.

So, it's not that your requests are being forgotten, but more that you are making too many requests in too short a period of time.

I think it would be better if you contributed more and requested less. For example, on GitHub, I encouraged you to learn Lua, but you ignored my suggestion. I understand that learning Lua and learning to theme seem like difficult tasks, but they weren't easy for me, either. I've been slowly getting better at Lua and theming for the last three years, and I imagine that bLOOdSAW didn't learn how to use Photoshop overnight, either. The same goes for Kyzentun and the other devs who write C++ for the StepMania engine; it took them many years to get where they are.

Learning to create resources and contribute back to the community in a meaningful way takes time. It's slow. It's often not fun. But, it is the only way things get done. Choose a skill you want to acquire, whether that is C++, or Lua, or Photoshop, or something else, and go after it. Learn it. Practice it. Learn it some more. Create things with it.

I would like to emphasize this point. I knew next to nothing before I started making judgefonts. I basically knew how to resize and move layers in photoshop and nothing beyond that. I still have a lot to learn regarding how to use photoshop, but I definitely know a hell of a lot more thanks to making these. Making these has kind of become a mini hobby for me now, as I actually enjoy making them.

Also, I do read every post this thread gets, and I do take into consideration each suggestion, even if I don't end up making it.

I will clarify that the Old West judgefont will probably not get a StomperZ version unless I decide to remake the font. If I do, then expect the remake to include a StomperZ version.

Expect a real SuperNOVA judgefont remake eventually, but this time the CORRECT one . Apologies again to the SuperNOVA 3 team for the mixup.

It may take a bit though, because I finally have some decent dance pads coming tomorrow (precision dance pads) and I might be busy playing more .

Was able to finish this quicker than I thought, but here is the ACTUAL CORRECT JUDGEFONT FOR SuperNOVA HD. Shoutouts to the Bemani Font thread. The font pack download in the OP had the font "Apex Commercial" I needed to complete this. StomperZ version available as usual .

Fixed a kerning issue with SuperNOVA HD, I fixed marvelous kerning (there was too much space between R and V) and slightly adjusted border colors for marvelous, perfect, and boo to be more consistent. Stomp/Comp both updated in this post and OP links.

I think this will be the last DDR remake for now, I completed what I wanted to to regarding the DDR mix judgefonts, I thought it would be a fun little project making them available in higher res with early/late graphics. Just a quick tip, if you're using Photoshop, you can make a copy of your text layer and convert it to a shape. You can use the Shape stroke to have sharper strokes.

When you initially apply the shape stroke however, you'll notice a small gap between the text and the stroke. This can be remedied by adding a small stroke to the original text layer to patch them together.

Hey folks, been a short while since the last update.. I have a few updates now!

ALL fonts now have a Competitve AND StomperZ versions!

I am happy to now have every font for both versions, I didn't want StomperZ players to feel left out!

Hardwire has some substantial changes, and Old West has been completely remade , check the download link in the OP.

Powerpuff, Chubs, Grammar HD, and Roundoff have all been slightly tweaked. These were ones I did not have the original files for, so I recreated them and made StomperZ versions available in then process.

Also, the OP now will have one link with folders for Competitive and StomperZ all in one download, no point in having 2 separate downloads especially now that every font I have made so far has both versions.

I will be updating the image previews in this thread for the newest version of each judgefont soon, but you can get the latest versions in the OP link for now.

*Update* Instead of having a ton of images in the OP, I will just have links to the imgur galleries of both Judgefont types.

Hopefully I will have some original stuff available soon too.

New(ish) font, Prism! This one is derived from the chromatic judgefont. Chromatic has a border/stroke of color only around "Fantastic", this one applies that to all judgments, and uses a more simple, blocky font. Both versions available in the OP link. (Also when posting new fonts, I will post both versions of the font going forward)

Is the (doubleres) in the name only valid for SM5? I put one of these into SL in OpenITG beta2 and they are double size anyway. Resizing them manually for now, DDR judge fonts are great idea, also monogram looks super.

I have personally never used openITG before, so I'm not sure if they work properly there or not. If the doubleres suffix doesn't work then it looks like resizing is the only option. Sorry about that!

Thanks to Pallero, I was notified that the "doubleres" suffix does not seem to work with OpenITG.

To fix this, I now have a download for half resolutions with no doubleres suffixes, so they will appear properly in OpenITG. I know most people use SM5, but it takes nearly no extra work to make an extra copy of each font at half resolution, so the few who use OpenITG can use these with no extra hassle.

I posted this in the Simply Love thread, I added this to all of the download links and galleries in the OP. It's basically a high resolution version of the default font with the Y axis issues fixed.


I also made a Chroma style version of the Love Judgefont, so you can have your left/right shifting default font in a darker style!

I tried my hand at the judgefont for DDR A. This is the first font where I didn't have an actual font to work with, I had to make each letter by hand. There isn't a grading between good and miss in DDR A, so I had to make "Boo". Added to OP links/galleries. Enjoy!

The newest versions of the Simply Love theme have some updates to the judgments for StomperZ. The grading/color scheme is changed. ECFA still uses the old StomperZ style Judgment.



I have redone all judgefonts for this new format, except for the original "Love" font and its chroma version I made. I don't have the font used for it, so I can't make "perfect" or "good" for it. If anyone knows the font used I can proceed with making new StomperZ versions.

FYI if you rename a file like "blah (doubleres).png" to "blah (res [half of its width]x[half of its height]).png", OITG will deal with it fine. Doubleres was an SM4 alpha feature.
