Extreme isn't even that good anyways.
I would play more MAX2 or SN songs that aren't MAXX or Xepher.

Cool kid alert. "Super Mario Bros. wasn't even that important of a game!"

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

Lmao, if any DDR game is akin to Super Mario Bros, it's 3rd Mix

Extreme is basically MAX2 but missing 5 to 10 songs and adding a bunch (no idea what the real numbers are), and then graphical differences, but anyway...

So many people walk off machines that I'm used to just taking the rest of their stages. xP Which is where happy/beginner mode sucks, because when they walk off during that, you're stuck with like 1/8th of the song list.

Of course, if it helps beginners, I can't complain. It is notably less sad to be gypped a stolen song list than it is to watch new people pick boss songs on their first round. x_o I just question how much it helps, as opposed to doing what other people have already said and put the presumably more popular songs front and center. Can't protest beginner/pro mode separation... but please just leave it at that as opposed to SN's array of difficulties. Even when I was a scrub, once I could pass beginner stuff safely, I was totally ready to start looking at the whole song list.

"Just Play Along"
DDR EXTREME was basically

"Sorry we got rid of all the old songs in DDRMAX. MAX2 got you back all those KONAMI Originals, but here, have a batch of your favorite Dancemania tracks as well. Also, remember all those CS-exclusive remixes and original songs, and the new KONAMI Originals from DS EuroMIX2? Have those too. What about those old and obscure CLUB MIX songs? Let's bring back a couple of those for once. We're gonna have to lay low for a while with DDR, but we still have many other rhythm-based games you can play in the mean time. Here's tons of songs from those too! MAXX UNLIMITED already a piece of cake? Have fun with PARANOiA Survivor MAX Oni!!! Till next time!"

Can't tell if you're saying that to praise EXTREME or bash it. I'll assume it's to praise because you'd have to be stupid to say all that to bash it.

He's basically saying there was barely any original content.
Nearly all of the EXTREME songlist was mainly BEMANI crossovers and revivals no one noticed to care.
Basically it was like 2014 thought the songs at least were better in a way.

Nothing wrong with a "greatest hits"-style mix. EXTREME pulled it off well. There's a reason it's one of the most commonly mixes next to 3rd Mix, guys.

"Just Play Along"

It's true that there wasn't much original content, but in no way am I bashing it. EXTREME was the perfect mix to keep people busy during the hiatus and introduce them to new BEMANI games. SuperNOVA did more or less the same thing, giving people most of the best songs that came out in the console games during the hiatus as a sort of "Welcome back" thing. There was absolutely no drawbacks to upgrading your machine from MAX or MAX2 to EXTREME. It had pretty much everything you could ask for at the time.

I liked MAX better, it felt like a fresh start (in terms of song list and game play and charts, can't say the same for the interface because it's basically a lazy rehash of the 5th mix interface).
MAX2 added to that with the Challenge Mode.

On topic, what do you dislike about DDR A?

What I DISLIKE about DDR A? Well, courses still aren't back. That's a big issue for me. Also, the licenses are meh. Aside from that it's a solid mix so far.

I'd like to see courses back as well, but I keep telling myself that nobody's cared about competing for course scores since SuperNOVA2.
Looking back on the Extreme courses they seemed the most creative in terms of themes and song selection, but I've played more of the courses on SuperNOVA and they don't have that same creative touch.

Was playing Ace today and saw the WR score; looked like FEFEMZ followed up to this and got the WR back (forgot the score, I swear it was 999,570).
But nonetheless this video got me hyped to play last week.
Edit: Chris has the WR back as of Monday. 999,650
