Round 1 GLC has a brand new DX cab. Online and updated - go nuts.

Since my location still doesn't have a gold cab with DDR A3, I think MVM would welcome SMX with open arms, myself included!

interesting for SMX to not only use artwork inspired by the official album art for Night in Motion but also for the BGA to be inspired by the official MV (though it would've been nice to have the official MV)

Yup! Direct request from the license holder that we use the official artwork. I actually ended up recreating it and the lettering is now pixel-perfect and consistent now, which is nice (and helps my ocd with that lol).

The music video was us just going "lmao this original video is rad", and since we couldn't use the original, as well as it not being in any format or quality for what we needed (licensing older videos is complicated sometimes), we just made the most 90s thing inhouse that matched our required video spec and slammed it in and it works so well, haha.

Honestly, I'm kind of shocked arcades are willing to pay the premium for the DX cabinet. I mean, obviously it's more attractive and ergo will potentially bring in more players, but functionally it's the same as the regular cab and the dollars per hour it generates will likely be the same since it's hard to charge more than $2 for a set and have people consistently play on it. (For reference, just look at any place with Beat Saber, they usually charge $3-4, and it gets played far less times as a result). Not a criticism of the DX cab, it looks pretty sweet, just an observation about the arcades.

This observation also applies to the DDR gold cabs and PIU LX cabs, respectively. Also, I just realized all 3 games have "Deluxe" cabinets now, neato.

The price difference is minimal (I'm talking $2000-3,000) and still much cheaper than competing products (Ask Andamiro how much an LX is now). Why not spend the little extra for the big flashy shiny one?

Naoki just wanted to make a new "CANDY" song, so that's the result! Not entirely a remix, but a new song in the same family.

Really dumb question, but I wanted to ask anyway: Does the doubles chart contain any reference to the ridiculous meme chart from ages ago? I won't be surprised if the answer's no, but it'd be fun to see someone try it at the arcade. XD

maybe i just live under a rock but i've unironically never heard of any of these artists other than james landino, and only because he has another song on SMX already lol

I mean, you probably should recognize Fracus and Darwin at least: both are DDR alumni, with Fracus doing Shades of Grey for SuperNOVA2 and Rescue Me for X3 (ported from 2010), and Darwin doing several pieces and arrangements for SuperNOVA2 onward, with notable appearances being boss stages with On the Break in X and Air Heroes in 2013.
