I wanted to do an expanded version of the "Interesting Little Things in DDR" thread that incorporated factoids from other Bemani series as well. Sources are optional, but encouraged.
To get things started, here's something I found out not too long ago: Did You Know that the working title for the Beatmania series was "DJ GROOVE"?
When you're tinkering with binary code in Beatmania THE FINAL, you get a line of text that reads:
"COPYRIGHT (C) KONAMIGRXXX 96.10.26DJ GROOVE"
The leaked source code for Beatmania Best Hits also mentions the name "DJ GROOVE" as well, and the date (October 26th, 1996) could be the date that development of the arcade version of Beatmania 1st Mix began.
Source: https://tcrf.net/Beatmania_THE_FINAL
Please let us know if you have some interesting tidbits people may or may not know about the Bemani franchise.

Ok, let's do this.
Apparently, the MGS theme from beatmania was going to be in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

In the South Korean version of IIDX 2nd Style (where it's called Beatstage II 2nd Style), Dong-tepo no.1 was retitled Rocket Factory because the original title was a reference to the Taepodong-1, a technology demonstrator for a ballistic missile developed by the North Korean military.
The unused title card for Rocket Factory can be found in 9th Style's data.

In Dance Dance Revolution Solo 2000, there lies unused background graphics for WILD RUSH that are simpler than the final version. (I like this better honestly)
MAX. (period)'s banner is in SUPERNOVA AC's data.
Xanadu had an unused background image in DDR 2ndMix, I think lots of people know this already. Oh and of course "Xanado"
Might be interesting if someone tries to make this a youtube series or something, but it'd run out of material fairly quickly

I've also used a source other than Remy for the first fact. There's another factoid that I will bring up that's also from The Cutting Room Floor:
There is unused data in DJ Troopers that was most likely left over from the GOLD Naperville location test in 2008; there's english text, and even a translated eAmuse login screen. In an alternate universe, perhaps we would've had an official English release of DJ Troopers in arcades...

This was something I've actually found out:
Did you know that the "That's Right" sample found at the end of NGO was taken from the 1975 disco single "Get Up And Boogie" by Silver Connection?

Just for reminder: That weird girl appeared in Last Thing On My Mind's background.Dancing Stage 1.5 recycled off a few song's backgrounds (and even fonts) for the three exclusive songs:
Xanadu's became the background for The Last Thing On My Mind (as seen above).
Dub-I-Dub's became Uh La La La's (AKA, the only song in DDR history to have three arrows at once)
and Get Up N Move's became It's Like That's.
It was a quick port to say the least, as it was full of interesting glitches (It's Like That has a strange glitch where when you start the song the down arrow points up,, then corrects itself, as seen in this video: )

Uh La La La is just bizarre because the guy who charted this had clearly never seen a DDR chart before and thought "hmm, I'll try and make an 8"

i'd make uh la la la a 13/14 on the X-scale tbh, it's dumb and that's why it's hard
even without the triple step it's stupid, probably worse than DEGRS imo

"DINGDONG♥HEARTS" |
Nothing interesting per se, but I'll highlight the evolution of a song featured in IIDX.
In 1967 artist Vera Lynn released a song named "It Hurts to Say Goodbye." It reached number 7 on the Adult Contemporary charts.
In 1968 artist Françoise Hardy released a cover of the song named "Comment te dire adieu?"
In 2001 artist Tomosuke Funaki released a cover of Françoise Hardy's interpretation under the same name. Tomosuke added a few verses and extended the intro so that the song isn't as repetitive as the previous two.
It's sometimes nice to appreciate the influence a song can have on people. Tomosuke was heavily influenced by french pop, which led to his "Orange Lounge," pseudonym. It's unfortunate that he pretty much retired that style of music in Bemani.

Anyone remeber Shanti Snyder? The vocalist for Kiss Kiss Kiss by Naoki? She did the lyrics for Inner Universe, the OP for Ghost in The Shell SAC. Oriya did some involvement in the lyrics too.
