Is there a reason name changes aren't allowed? I can name at least 5 people that would gladly change their name, but al2k4 simply doesn't want to do it. Like, I can see how it was starting to get too confusing years ago, but I think as long as it's once every 6-12 months, and a maximum of 2 changes, it might be okay. As long as everyone doesn't bandwagon, I don't see why SOME changes shouldn't be allowed... the last one must have been 4 years ago.

If Alan doesn't want to do it, then there's that.
Also, something tells me you want a name change...

That's the thing. You'll be surprised how many people crawl out of the woodwork since they had a namechange on the back of their minds. If al leaves that as an option, he'll get flooded with requests, especially from newer users who consider that as a guarantee.

What could help is;
#1; Something among the lines of this sticking for a month after renaming;
That way, a heads up will be available before it disappears.
#2; Requirements. Maybe you need to have a rating of over 50 and/or be on the site for 6 months before being allowed the greenlight.

I for one can welcome this just so I can slightly alter my name on here.
