I'm realizing that I'm having difficulty with fast two-arrow 8th note streams, like those throughout Egoism 440 Heavy, near the end of Pluto Relinquish Heavy, and even in something like at the end of the slowdown in PossessionHeavy/Challenge (the 16 16th notes). I would think that they would be simpler than 8th note streams using all four arrows since you have to move your feet less, but I find that when I try to alternate hitting the same two arrows repeatedly that I lose track of where I am and end up just wildly mashing instead of being able to hit the arrows in time with the beat. Does anyone have any tips to help me improve this?

Normally when I tackle parts like those, I focus on getting one of my feet in time. For instance, if the stream was LRLRLRLRL and so on, I'd concentrate on getting my left foot on the 4th notes and letting my right foot hit in between those counts. I'd think "left, left, left" in time with the song.

That's just me though.

This happens to me too!
1) practicing an individual song helps u learn that skill for the specific song and the more songs u do with that step pattern, eventually u will master the skill overall
2)i like to listen to the song first and know the beat and i saw the beat in my head like "dun dun dun dun" for every eighth note and i then move my feet to the beats in my head
3)try adjusting the speed of the song

hope this helps! Smile

Use your heels and basically just vibrate your feet on the sensors more than actually step/stomp on them.

Harder to MA but it saves a ton of energy in the long run.

The technique is to play flat footed so heal and toe and try not to touch the pannel with your entire foot it will slow you down.
Try to mimick the people who play In The Groove they play flatfooted really well.

Basically, 16th alternating streams are just sets of jacks put together. When playing songs with jacks such as CSFIL Speed Mix and the 5th Mix Paranoia Eternal chart, practice by hitting the opposite arrow with your other foot during the jacks. This way, you'll get used to the motion.

For this, I would say to hear your feet. Think of the noise of a drum roll. It stays the same beat the whole time and it is consent so if you think of that you may be able to stay focus on the beats.

There's actually an edit stepchart that many use. It's literally a never-ending LR stream on DeltaMAX, and the arrows speed up. It's really fun and a great way to test your speed.

Doubt that you ment to post that here...

but don't do deltamax because the speed will speed up, 99% of songs will not speed up while quickly going lrlrlrlrlr

he doesnt have problem with that, he has a problem with keeping a rhythm on the streams

Well, it's also very rhythmically challenging as there is a speedup every beat, so you have to keep up with the rhythm and pay attention to the music to score accurately, which may be his problem.

He's likely going to have an even harder time keeping rhythm on a song that's constantly speeding up than on a song with one flat BPM. Confused

I'd recommend playing V (for EXTREME) Challenge and Horatio Heavy to practice those patterns. Not deltaMAX.

V is SO FUN OMG

I made a really bad edit chart for it with 16th crossovers and step jumps a few weeks ago.
