You probably know what I'm going to say, so I'll make this short.
On my soft pad, I have gotten 2 PFCs.
I have no idea how.
Good player plus pad misses on the right and down arrows does not equal an enjoyable DDR experience.
What is a good pad for relatively cheap that does not move and will not give me pad misses?

As long as you keep it in good order, it should be a great soft-pad.
Honestly, for absolute quality, you're better off buying a metal pad, but those are usually expensive.

For what it's worth I would not recommend an omega precision dance pad itgx whatever it's actually called now for ps2 gaming if anyone suggests it. The adapter he made/uses with it is horribly laggy and you'll be playing ridiculously early. Compared to a soft pad and some different controllers it's very very delayed. Mine also likes to randomly short out memory cards meaning I have to play on the p2 side if I want to be able to save and not corrupt my memory card.
No idea why it's the case but it's probably the circuit board they used for the adapter, if it's a cheap one I wouldn't be surprised it's like that.
Try and find a semi expensive metal/hard pad or duct tape a soft pad to some plywood and replace it whenever it craps out, providing soft pads are never folded back up they should last a long time as incorrect folding is usually what kills the sensors.

DDRGAME is a really good brand for console pads. I have a foam-filled pad from them and it works like magic. Doesn't shift while I'm playing at all! I've gotten tons of Double-A's with it. A standard soft pad should work well enough for you if you're playing on a hard surface.

That's a pretty bold claim on your part. They may not be the best brand out there, but saying that all their products are bad is a very blind-sighted opinion. My pad from them has been working in top-notch condition, so I don't see why you would think this. Can you elaborate on why you believe that DDRGame is a bad brand?

LOL, we actually use the exact pad listed from DDRGame for the multi-console control box on the PrecisionDancePads, they are pretty good circuit boards. Soft pads usually have way better circuit boards than hard for some reason. No idea why it's the case but it's probably the circuit board they used for the adapter, if it's a cheap one I wouldn't be surprised it's like that.

But anything man-made goes bad, if you have a bad control box we can replace it for you, we do not use adapters with our pads.
