I wanted to add easier difficulties to a SM file that someone made for the Divinelegy Gimmick series (Aero Chord - Surface).
Since it used gimmicks, I decided to edit it in OpenITG 2. This might've been a mistake.

Instead of recreating from scratch, I duplicated the original difficulty and named my new difficulty "Hard". Then I went into OpenITG and redid certain parts to make it easier. This has previously worked for me in Stepmania 5.

After completing the new difficulty in OpenITG, I saved the file and got the message saying it had been saved as a SM and DWI file.
However, the saved files aren't in the OpenITG/Song folder. The text in my SM file in OpenITG/Song folder has remained UNCHANGED.

I did a computer search for recently edited SM and DWI files but resulted in nothing.
I also did a search in the OpenITG folder that was unsuccessful.

Where did it go? Where is OpenITG loading this file from? Please help if you know.

Other Info

However, I can close OpenITG and my edited new difficulty will still be there. It is accessible in both Dance Mode and Edit Mode. I just can't find where it's being saved at.

Fast Load is OFF.

Yes, OpenITG is in Program Files (x86).

When I copied the song into C Drive/Games/Stepmania 5/Songs , it did not work either.

It's weird that every time I exit OpenITG Edit Mode, it asks me if I want to save the file (regardless if I JUST saved it or didn't even edit it).

Thanks for your reply.
I think I might just re-edit the difficulty in Stepmania 5 and transfer it to OpenITG when I'm done.

Installing stepmania in program files is a bad idea and causes problems with permissions so yeah don't install there.

Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

I don't think Wumbo is a real word.

I moved the OpenITG folder to C Drive/Games. After loading OpenITG, my new difficulty disappeared. No worries though since I screen recorded what I made.

Thanks for your input!

This is why we can't have nice references.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.
