I HAVE A BIG IDEA THAT WILL ADD TO THIS SITE

This thread is dedicated to my own idea I made after making my first thread. Anyway, everyone knows that DDR got it's own catalog for simfiles to be used with Stepmania and Open ITG. Well, why not add a catalog for Beatmania IIDX. I know what people might think, well, how is this going to work. This multi part catalog will have host several things, specifically for Lunatic Rave 2. One of the things that this catalog will provide will be for LR2 themes for both SD and HD versions. Themes can range from themes used in the arcades, and themes that are not used in the arcades. The next part will be a simple page explaining what LR2 is, a guide to download and setup LR2, and a quick link to download LR2 (or go to it's homepage.) Lastly, there will be the actual simfile catalog. It'll be a lot like how the DDR simfile catalog works. There will be a section for OFFICIAL simfiles and a section for UNOFFICIAL simfiles. OFFICIAL simfiles will be organized by the Arcade release for Beatmania IIDX songs, and CS for console release songs, and an additional category for Beatmania songs. You can choose to download songs individually in the manner used in the DDR catalog or you can download a whole package. Packages will come in .zip or .rar files. The UNOFFICIAL category will contain other songs not in Beatmania or Beatmania IIDX and fan made BMS files for OFFICIAL songs. This is my idea. I know it's a bit too big, but I want people to read this thread so that we all know the idea. I will accept comments whether it be a good criticism of the idea, your own ideas and opinions. I also know that it will take a lot of work and will also need an admin to kick start this idea. I just hope that people will read this and understand. Please do not be negative to me unless you are explaining how something works, I don't know how much time, people and work this might be and I don't want to harm anyone. IF YOU ONLY HAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK TO SAY THEN DON'T AND I MEAN DON'T POST A COMMENT HERE, O.K., GREAT! So if users agree with me than we can get this project started.

... Who are you? And can I ask if you, yourself, would work on this? Nothing irritates me more than people who have 'ideas' and tell others to make them.

I get the idea behind of having some kind of BMS database for BMS files like we do with simfiles and it's not a bad idea on paper. However, I don't think the demand is high enough for BMS charts for LR2. Also making a BMS chart is much harder than making something with Stepmania/OITG because of keysounds and more complex charting. Simfiles work here because they are somewhat easy to make and therefor there's more people that can make content for it. Making a BMS from scratch is something not many people can do or have the patience to do. Just seems like a ton of work for very little.

I'm willing to help work on this, the only problem is that I need to be taught how to do this. I'm new to this site and you should know that which is why I need to learn now. Again I'd work as hard as I can if I could be taught a few things. So don't be ticked off.

Unless I'm overestimating how much you need to be taught, I don't think anyone would be anymore willing to teach you how to do it than to just do it themselves.

That is a great website to start off with for right now. I should give the guy who made that website a LOT of credit. But, I need to know how to get background videos for all of the songs, yes including the generic ones too.


I'm just trying to be helpful is all. If all I'm doing is getting in the way of progress than I'll let someone else be in charge instead (not that I was anyway.)

This is going to require a lot of space. A lot of space that unfortunately the site doesn't have. (Seriously, we have sub-10Gb left.)

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, pitching this idea to a community that consists of mostly DDR players wouldn't exactly generate the most interest, especially when the songs you mentioned are pretty well organized and available to most of the BMS community (see https://www.reddit.com/r/lunaticrave2/wiki/index and the link that I PMed you). If you get on Facebook, there is a LR2 FB group that has a megapost that will probably help you out with skins and songs.

If you want background movies, I'm hosting 122 remastered copies of them on this thread. Or you could download the links located here.

Edit: Oh....wait, you mean IIDX movies........ Some of them are on YouTube, you CAN bust out this and set them to the songs.

Alright, I now clearly understand. With the fact that this is mostly a DDR site (a game that I myself really enjoy) along with the fact that not only does this site not have enough data to handle my idea, there is also people who don't want to do a whole lot of work on this so I apologize to everyone who seen this thread or heard of it. I knew my idea wouldn't work and clearly there are people who already did the same thing. I don't want to cause any harm. I just wanted to know if people thought the same thing, I didn't want people to try to work on this. All I need was a "Hey I seen something that sounds like what you were talking about, I'll give you a link to it." So I am truly sorry that this monstrosity of a thread came to be. I agree that this was and is a bad idea to begin with. I accept all the doubt and blame for this. Just please forgive me, that's all I ask. I promise I won't do anything stupid like this idea. In fact I just won't post anything anymore. Again I' am truly sorry this crap happened. Anyway have a nice evening.
