Ah the greatest of stepmania. It has been awhile since I have given an update. The song list I posted is really outdated and the game is now called STEPMANIA. Good thing I posted the song list though. Krishach was able to recover his steps by realizing I have them.

Yeah the old name had to go. The jankiness of the video game video is caused by having FRAPS record live gameplay on an older computer I use for these conventions.

You're still trying, so that means you don't want to give up, and I admire you for that. But you need to learn from your mistakes that caused your project's...ahem, popularity this time. Hopefully, in V.3, you won't have any unauthorized simfiles.

How will we be able to tell the difference between Stepmania and STEPMANIA in normal conversation?

I'll just give the guy a straight answer and move along. Yes, a dance pad can indeed count as a toy, since it's something you can play with. It could also be called exercise equipment since it's use for exercise as well. It can be a superhero cape, or toilet paper if you wanna wipe your ass with it. Just call it whatever you perceive it as.

In normal conversation it won't matter. Both are all dance gaming to the rest of the world. STEPMANIA is just a way of representing a sample of Stepmania.


The whole point of the project is to make Stepmania more artistically sophisticated. There is really no reason why enhanced Stepmania packages should not exist. We enhance music with interactivity, and I enhance the steps with music videos that reflect on a song's influence, audience, and meaning. It's hard to not have fun doing it. The only thing that has changed is that I have focused on demonstrating outside of ZIV.

Is the point of this thread so that you can make some big post about how meaningful dance pads are and how your project demonstrates the full dance pad experience or something?

Do you have permission for the files, though?

For instance, in this idea-in-storage, I asked for 12 files from ZIv Simfile Shuffle (rounds 1-3). I would love to use DANCE ALL NIGHT and CLASH, but since Gameoson and GariK+ have not responded yet, I cannot place the songs in Max4's songs list.
