The "sequel" event to last year's Tenkaichi Otogesai has been announced via the event's official Twitter.

Very little is known so far; everything is up to speculation. There isn't even a tentative date for when it starts. However it has been mentioned that it will feature 5 titles (one more than the last), and they will be revealed in 2-3 days.

Assuming they're all from different companies, we have these possibilities:
(bold is the series that participated last time, italic is a new game series)

* KONAMI: jubeat prop, but it really could be any BEMANI series
* TAITO: GROOVE COASTER 2: HEAVENLY FESTIVAL
* Namco: Taiko no Tatsujin Murasaki ver, or Synchronica
* SEGA: maimai ORANGE Plus, or CHUNITHM
* CAPCOM: crossbeats REV., or unfortunately, Cytus Ω if it's released before then

The real participants are
Sound Voltex
Taiko no Tatsujin
maimai
Groove Coaster
and Synchronica.
jubeat doesn't count in this year.

Sadly, there will be no any crossover like the last year, but new songs will be appeared.

Also AOU said they are considering about putting last year's crossover(FLOWER, Garakuta Doll Play, Got more raves?, Kita Saitama2000) into Sound Voltex and Synchronica.

"Dare to be Different."
If there was a Korean version of that event, there will be PIU, DDR, EZ2AC, 3S and CrossxBeats. I really wanted "northpole" and "U GOT ME CRAZY" on DDR. Sadly, it might lead to some lawsuits,

But speaking on topic, NO CROSSOVERS!?!?!? Maybe it's because copyrights?

A crossover-less tournament kills the mood for me. Also, two Bandai Namco titles? Damn.

I can't see why you guys are sooooooooo down about the idea of no crossover songs for this iteration of the tournament... I mean, don't get me wrong- I loved the popular cross-overs through the participating franchises fine and dandy, but I far MORE enjoyed the introduction of brand-new shared songs, something completely new which in the end made me more enthusiast for the event itself.

Plus, it was kind of unexpected when it was first announced- FLOWER appearing anywhere else wouldn't be that far off from a guess, but I wouldn't EVER guess in a million years that a Nekomata Master song -a brand new one, mind you- could ever reach something that is not an arcade from the bemani family! The other three were friggin' awesome too, in my ears.

Anyway, a new tweet from the AOU Twitter page reveals that each of the participating franchises will receive two new songs from each software house brand in the collaboration (bemani, Bandai Namco, Taito and Sega), one coming in October and the other one in November.

UPDATE (07/10/2015): Sound Voltex is getting the first 4 cross-over songs from the previous Tenkaichi Otogesai event tomorrow (link), while Synchronica will get those next week on Thursday (link).

2nd Tenkaichi Otogesai website is about to be opened as well, with artist comments on the 8 new songs for the event.

UPDATE (24/11/2015): With the announcement of Groove Coaster having only their second track as part of the tournament's Final Block songs, it's safe to assume that the other 2nd phase songs won't be crossed over to the other arcades.

...yeah, that's where I stop defending the event as well. Why making a cross-over tournament at all where none -I repeat, NONE- of the featured songs are available in all the other participating games as well? Might as well just make individual tourneys for each franchise and call it a day.

Aside from the past Tenkaichi's Phase 1 songs coming to Synchronica and SOUND VOLTEX, the only cross-inclusion of songs (that was already announced through a Nicovideo livestream) is Taiko no Tatsujin and Synchronica crossing over their track between the two franchises...

"This hat hurts"
The point is, there are not cool crossovers.

No Otherside in IIDX or SDVX. No Ethic Wacky Dance in CHUNITHM. No L9 in CxB. No Dopamine in Groove Coaster.

That to me is very lame and makes me careless.
