Just a new MUSECA rookie here. Already making an effort to understand how to finish he Story objectives based on Google translate and whatnot.

Lacking a 月 grafica for Story 006. Tried my luck on Graf.HOLE but didn't get what I needed. Going to figure out some Story missions for 007 and 008.

For that last objective for Story 006, I need to clear the game with 1500 LIFE while getting a rating of 佳 and above right? No specific grafica to use?

The thing is, Museca will be upgraded (at least in Japan) this wednesday, and you lose almost everything.
The whole UI is different, and mechanism will change a lot
So you lose all your Coloris/Muese, score rating, and even Graphica (though the game knows which graphica you had, so you will get some bonuses if you obtain them again)

Starting over with a clean slate for the update is both a shame and a good thing at the same time. Personally, I'm hoping that they either make the story objectives a bit easier to understand (or at least more user-friendly for non-Japanese speakers somehow), or completely replace the story mode entirely with something else.

After a while of not making any progress after a certain point, I started to get burnt out on the game, and it didn't help that by then, my Round1 started getting Groove Coaster cabs, and especially DDR A. ^^;

Yeah, this update was annouced 2 or 3 weeks ago. In fact, this append version is called "MUSECA 1+1/2" and will brings two modes: A story mode and a pure game mode.

Also, two songs were announced in the last BeNama:
- Function #05 / Yu_Asahina
- If / Pa's Lam System

Got a chance to try out the new update. It really changes how you progress in this game.

What I've experienced:
-There are two "modes" (interchangeable between songs/layers). One mode focuses on playing the songs. The other mode focuses on restoring grafica.
-The scoring system is now universal. Every song has a max cap of 1,000,000 points, no matter the difficulty rating. This could mean that graficas no longer affect score acquisition.
-COLORIS seems to be the only (and maybe universal?) currency visible. No signs of NIS, MUESE and OVERLOAD.
-Your score records (and Connect All) seem to be intact, albeit maybe adjusted with the new scoring scheme.
-A brief explanation on how to navigate menus will appear before you can take control.

Let's me explain how the 2 modes work.
Mission Mode:
-this is where graficas are acquired by restoring them.
-any normally attained graficas obtained from old story progression, stamp rally and Graf.HOLE are removed from your account.
-special graficas (such as Rin Shimotsuki, etc.) are in your inventory.
-to acquire/restore a grafica, you must select the desired grafica and select your desired difficulty level
-difficulty levels are tied to specific songs to specific levels (not sure if there's a perk of clearing all difficulty levels)
-as before, you can equip up to 3 graficas.
-the graficas' (you own) primary purpose is to draw the graphica back. It's so fun that you'll literally see the grafica being "skteched" and splattered with color until you successfully restore it
-there are five elements involved. the elements will affect how easily you can restore the grafica before the song ends (and if you don't make unnecessary misses)
-when the song reaches the segments that a grafica would normally appear, the grafica being restored will take the whole screen.
-if you successfully restore the grafica before the song ends, the said grafica will take over your screen for the rest of the song.
-unlocking a grafica that you previously owned will have higher starting MEDAL/level (from my experience, the grafica's starting MEDAL (level) is 3 when you acquired it before, 5 when restored previously. Not so sure if there are higher starting MEDAL levels if further upgraded and such).

Song list mode:
-this mode is purely for those who focus on the core game of MUSECA
-selecting a song will allow you to select its difficulty before playing it
-you can only equip 1 grafica but the grafica will have a higher EXP gain, as opposed to having 3 at a time
-the grafica will fill the entire screen throughout the song. no more grafica segments here. play with your favorite grafica!

Grafica:
-every player starts with three basic graficas to get started. it's based on their spin-mascot like thingamajig having the "Passion," "Natural" and "Cold" elements.
-graficas get better by using them to gain EXP.
-the grafica's level is known as "MEDAL."
-as mentioned earlier, there are five elements that can give an advantage in restoring grafica faster.
-the five elements are "Passion," "Natural," "Cold," "Dark" and "Pure"
-all graficas have been recategorized with these five elements
-when restoring graficas, using graficas with an element that is (super) effective against the "opposing" grafica type will make restoring the opposing grafica easier. this is indicated by a boost in some sort of rating that resembles an illustration of an apple (art quality)
-the "weakness" chart goes like this: "Cold" is good against "Passion," "Passion" is good against "Natural," and "Natural" is good against "Cold." "Dark" and "Pure" are interchangeably opposed. (a trending elemental weakness pattern from Japan. Brave Frontier, anyone?)
-there is some sort of "sub element" in each grafica. I have yet to realize it's potential.
-graficas have skills when reaching a certain MEDAL level.

Song difficulty unlocking can be done by trying to access the locked difficulty and paying COLORIS to unlock it.
Oh yes, after you're done with your last layer/song, game's over! Tongue

Whew. That's all my experience from MUSECA 1 + 1/2. Watch the prologue. It gets TRIPPY!

The new Museca is just excellent!
Getting those graphicas is finally fun and not based on your luck like the previous gacha mode.
unlocking songs is also easier.

Also, from my experience, clearing all 3 requirement for a graphica doesn't change anything.
And if you had upgraded your graphicas before they start at level 7 when you re-obtain them

Also, collab event with Sound Voltex starting tomorrow with 4 songs moving through (Paradission in Voltex <3)

Sounds like they made the game more accessible, especially for newer players. I guess I'm gonna have to give this game another go when the update hits the Round1 stores. Smile

Also, thanks to the Give and Take event, BRAIN POWER is gonna be in Museca!

Well, damn, I guess I have another reason to play it again. XD

More observations.

The difficulty levels in restoring grafica affects the maximum MEDEL (level) cap of the grafica.
-finishing EASY will provide a cap of 8
-finishing STANDARD will provide a cap of 9
-finishing HARD will provide a cap of 10

Highest starting MEDEL confirmed: 7. Maybe when you restore a grafica twice in the old version?

There are 3 "types" of grafica: Connect, Critical and Balanced. Have no idea how this works.

If you see a "DANGER" icon on a grafica you wish to restore, you have less the "safe strength" from your 3 strongest grafica. You can attempt to restore the grafica but don't screw up (miss a lot, etc.). The value is based on an average from your 3 strongest grafica.

Graficas that are stronger than the the element of the grafica to be restored get a +30% (1.3x) boost of their "strength." There is no penalty if you use a grafica that is "weaker" than the element of the grafica to be restored.

Playing straight to "Song Select" right after the prologue does not give the 3 basic graficas. You will be reminded to try Mission Mode after the Final Layer.

Playing Standard mode grants 1.5x EXP when leveling graficas.

Have fun with the event SDVX/MUSECA event! I'm scared of playing SDVX because of how demanding it is! Although that Brain Power song sounds nice...

You can get all songs in a single credit. You just have to unlock them in Voltex once.
The trick is to play Museca quite a bit and accumulate "blocks" for Voltex (thanks to the on-going campaign).
Then, once you have enough (I think the number are written somewhere on the official page for the event), play randomly Voltex and buy all 4 songs at the end.
The biggest problem is if you never played Voltex, the list of songs to unlock is HUGE! So you may not find it (they are all songs from Voltex 2, so you can trim a bit your search)

We're in a period were getting blocks is VERY EASY. Lots of daily login bonuses!

Yes, finding the songs was a real struggle. Spent 4 games trying to find all four songs! The song list is overwhelming, even with the SDVX II -infinite infection- filter on! Sad

Anyhoo, the official website now has a feature for you to view your score data and graficas in full glory!

Here's a pic to prove it: http://imgur.com/a/zKhPV

Finally got to try the 1+1/2 update! (Word of warning: Since I'm making this a mini-review of sorts, I'm most likely going to repeat stuff that other people have said earlier, mainly because I'm now writing this from experience.)

As someone who got turned off with story mode in vanilla Museca where the objectives weren't exactly clear, especially for someone who doesn't know much Japanese like me, the new Mission mode is a much needed and welcome change of pace; instead of having to find the one specific grafica just to clear a chapter, you now simply revive grafica one by one, and the types are now simplified to just 5 that are now in English (Cool, Natural, Passion, Dark and Pure). This makes finding the weakness of the grafica's type a lot easier, and will give you an EXP boost.

From the 4-5 sessions I've played, the store from vanilla Museca is now gone and you use your Coloris (which is now the only currency in the game) to unlock harder difficulties for missions/songs.

Another welcome change is that the lanes are now less bright, and easier to read the notes; as I've mentioned back when this game came out to Round1, I mentioned how shocked I was that you were able to see the notes so clearly while any footage of the game made it look like it was very hard to see because of how the game emphasized using white and bright red. Now you have darker shades, and they made the yellow and blue notes darker as well. Hopefully this will mean that getting footage of the game on Youtube will not be as much of a hassle.

And lastly, and this is just a very minor detail that most people wouldn't bother to add in, but is it just me, or did Konami somehow added in new colors to the lights inside the buttons? The lights now produce more colors, and they even have a rainbow-like multicolor light for some songs, which looks really cool in person.

Overall, I'm really digging this newer, simpler version of Museca, and it has officially won me back (and not a moment too soon, since I went to my local Round1 on a bad day, apparently; IIDX wasn't working, nor was Groove Coaster. X_X ).

Struggling to know how to navigate the game? Check this wiki I just started a few days ago!

http://museca.wikia.com/wiki/MUSECA_Wikia

It's still a work in progress. Need to make sure the basics and formatting is all set so I can go on blast in making content.

This game is so amazing, I finally got to play it today. Wow, is all I can say. Super, super fun and modern.

This and SDVX 3 were really impressive to me. So exciting to play the first game in a Bemani series. Played the tutorial and my eAmuse card worked just fine.

FYI

discussion about people playing this game actually only starts on Page 9 and up, pages 1-8... dont waste your time

I've been playing the new Museca constantly since the patch. I've unlocked all the graphicas, cleared almost every mission, my scores are blah blah no wants to hear me brag.

Museca seems to be more popular at my R1 because of the update. I've noticed a lot of different people playing, and people who aren't using e-amuse cards playing relatively high level songs. (Like 10s?) And at least one of my friends who refused to play before plays now. So there's that!

Some of the new 15s are pretty hard and I'm pleased. The new Miku songs are so easy they're almost not worth it, but to some people Miku is enough of a celebrity that they'll play them anyway. But I'm like, Gravity charts please.

The real appearance of Miku in a Bemanu game actually have some appeal.
I've seen quite a number of people at least trying it to play 千本桜. (like a lot of Jubeat players, still salty about the song removed in a flash before)

Clearing all missions...wow, this takes some time (for my part, unlocking every graphica was done in a flash, but doing it again twice for just a gold border takes a lot more time...motivation wise)

I'm glad there's new content churning out. Need to play this on my next payday to add this in wiki.

At this point, I may go on full blast with grafica articles. Songs? Not so sure what to put there aside from mission information. Need translators too! Tongue

I apologize for the 2-month bump, but I just want to express my discontent. I think it's not fair how MÚSECA gets the two new CocoNatsu songs, while all those other new HinaBitter songs don't get crossed over to any other games whatsoever. I wonder what's causing the decline in HinaBitter/CocoNatsu's popularity in Japan that caused the 2 new CocoNatsu songs that were formerly only in SDVX to have their crossover into such an unpopular game as MÚSECA.
