There will be (free) DLC packs for DDRMAX4 for those that want more songs that are compatible (HD graphics, background scripts, all 7 stepcharts (if some are missing), songs that couldn't make the normal pack, etc). How does that sound?

I took a liking to this song immediately.



And by sheer luck, some DDR4ever songs are Dancemania licenses (IT JUST WON'T DO / BREATHE / DEVIL QUEEN / Give it up / Smile D.K, maybe others).

By the way, how do you make "Konami Originals"? (A.K.A. original songs intended for DDR)

KO's and Crossovers are songs that are either from a NON-DDR KONAMI game or a song that doesn't seem like it would be in the License section on a DDR game. There's a hard way and an easy way with making KO's and Crossovers.

Hard way: Download/convert the MP3 of the song from YouTube, turn it into a Stepmania Simfile using the StepMania Tools and Package Exporter, then make your own steps and graphics.

Easy way: Find the song you're looking for around the internet, just edit the steps, and (optional) edit the graphics.

There are a few original writers and remixers around Zenius. You could have a few Z-I-v originals in the game.
Or, you could write them yourself! I almost did it for Summer Contest this year!

I have a monstrously complex (but still beautiful) .flp in the works since December 2014. The 3DTextura movies are going to be used for something bigger, and that song is a contribution to it. I guess this gives me a reason to finally finish it.

On that note, do you guys think if I edited all of the stepcharts (and graphics, they are low res) for the DDR4ever songs, they'd no longer be "stolen"?

I haven't made progress on this for a while directly, but I'm storming up ideas for custom videos.

And I changed my mind. KESSEN WA KINYOUBI is a syncing mess and frustrating to play.

LOVE TIDE is getting in there instead.

If you edited the graphics and step charts, you wouldn't be editing the music cuts or offsets so I would still consider them stolen.

It would essentially be just you stepping an original; it happens to be the same song(s). That's the great thing about creating simfiles. You can have 5 different simfiles with the same song but they can be 5 vastly different interpretations of the song. You can have your own take on these songs that you want to include in the project that were previously stepped by DDR4ever. It would be wise though to have your own complete version of the song though, I would think. Not just the steps, but Graphics, Extras, even the song cut (if applicable & feasible), if you really wanted to differentiate your file from the ones he made. If you just changed the steps it would feel more like an edit than an original. But that's just my take on things.

Sadly, I've gotten too attached to most of the files (there are exceptions, however)... I'll try to cut the amount I have, though... And again, I wasn't the one who picked them out.


Is there a way to install patches to Stepmania 3.9? The original engine is slightly glitchy and beware's DDR extreme fixes a lot of problems and drifts the original engine has, but I can't just take beware's DDR extreme engine because there's something wrong with the patch metrics...

One irritating aspect is the video rewind glitch.


Another factor is I want to control the order the songs appear in in the songlist;

Oh god. I know the current dev team is just done with us 3.9ers, but I'd honestly consider paying someone to add these two features in 3.9+.


Doesn't this work in 3.9+ already? It works for me with takuya's themes.

In beware's DDR extreme, if you play from the 2P side, OSHARE-ZUKIN will appear on the single and doubles options instead of KONSENTO.

I don't want to be tacky, but should I just reskin beware's DDR extreme theme just so all of the errors in Stepmania 3.9 that set apart from official DDRs are fixed? It's the only way for me to use his modified source code, as I get bullshit like "The theme metric SelectOptions X is missing. Correct this mistake and press Retry." that prevents me from even getting to the menu because his theme has a metric I can't identify. I'll make sure to give huge credit to him for this....

Well, now I'm trying some trial and error with a DDRMAX "simulator" I'm working on and attempting to add all of the elements that cause the simulator to fail to see if I can at least get to gameplay.

It didn't work. In fact, I think I ruined my DDRMAX theme. Which means the simulator will be all glitchy and limited anyway unless I take from beware's EXTREME.... ugh.

Hey Cuzco! Just as I discussed on Chat, I'll help you with the graphics. One thing I want to note is that Alt 2.0 (the character you embedded an image of here) is NOT the character for this song: her song is "Linear Locomotive Love" from Pop'n Music 19. The character for this song is just plain ol' Alt, not Alt 2.0.

I chose that picture because it looked more snazzy. However, yes, Alt 1.0 appears to be assigned to 0/1 Angel.

I have no clue what to do with the other song yet (Klungklung 1655), but I'm still including it, just because of EXTREME's equally random song crossovers like Gamelan de Couple and Twinbee X.

Would you like it if I included both the regular Alt and 2.0 in the 0/1 Angel graphics?

Hi.

I'm conspiring completely restarting this list from scratch.

Looking back at this, something feels...not right about this. In addition to the amount of stolen simfiles, there are too many revivals, some of them not even making sense and feeling a bit out of place and other problems.

What do you guys think?

With the nature of White Lovers, Love 2 Sugar, and DAIKENKAI, I was also going to compile a custom background movie for this song (and two other custom movies that are reusable for other songs).

All three will be in the set of 3DTextura movies;



You can sort of visualize how ALT will fit in with this kind of scenery.

This is yet another case where animated characters appear in a 3DTextura movies, and 2D characters at that. I think having 3D characters in a set of THESE videos;



Would...be challenging. The first case was the HTF Disco1 movie (Toothy and Flaky) that appears in Ijiwaru Na Hello, Can Be Real, Otasa Revolution, I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY, and cameos in ODORU PONPOKOLIN. I feel like there will be at least 1 more case, but every other custom video in this category will be true to the originals.


Hi, I'm back from Simfile Shuffle 2015. Practically every simfile that can be released to that contest is out, and sine there's no more to look forward to, I think getting back to work on this is a good idea.

Here's all of the simfiles I made that I will be including in the project;

Most of these are going to be polished. TAKE A LOOK AROUND's chart will removed and the chart will have some crossovers. Hitoribocchi's chart is leaving, getting replaced with the chart, and a new chart will be made. It's also getting actual graphics instead of just the GuitarFreaks jacket being cropped over and over again. LOVE CLUTCH is getting some awkward jumps in its chart removed. Seedy Try and TRICKL4SH will remain the same. ...except for the fact that all of these are getting doubles charts.

As for everything else (Who What Who What, Youkaisai Sendou, Road to G6, Flowlight, werewolf howls.), I unfortunately do not think they are fit for DDRMAX4. If one of those simfiles, however, get asked enough to be in, I'll gladly do so.

ADDITIONALLY, The Legendary DJXYZ allowed one of his files to be used specifically for DDRMAX4;

This simfile I happen to like enough that I'm pretty happy it's being released to this.

So, if you have a simfile in the contest that you think is fit for DDRMAX4, don't hesitate to say which one it is. I'll be happy to accept it!

So on that note, JOMANDA is being removed.

Quite frankly, it's a DDR 2014 transplant that I feel isn't fit for the game. TRICKL4SH 220 will be replacing it.

I personally think it's a great list. (Most likely because I'm used to the list since I assembled 50% of it...)

About those stolen simfiles, I'm sorry I added those to the list...so I'll take punishment and penalties and make my own steps of those.... eventually... (sometime after I'm done making my RPG) and...yeah. I'll try to revive this game. That's if you, the creator, give me permission to step the users's simfiles that WEREN'T given permission to put in this game.

You might as well make this an Arcade Game. It has alot of revivals, which is normal. Less than 50% of the list is new songs, which is normal. There's over 100 songs (possibly over 200 songs) in this game, which is normal. It would increase alot more excitement on this game tbh.

As I said, I assembled the list and could make my own steps for those songs.

I like the list as well! especially because it's got 0/1 Angel, but the other songs are good too. Don't do anything to 0/1 Angel, though!

Maybe you could remove some of the revivals, though, since you do feel that there is too many.

I'm sorry but I'm... not feeling it like I used to. I'm burned out from simfiles, the theme is pretty unoriginal, I suck at theming (I mean, I can make graphics, but I can't actually script them...), I think the 3.9 factor is also detrimental, stolen simfiles, no means to get actual originals, among other things. I'm just not the one to make a DDRMAX4. Honestly, it's kinda stretching it already since DDRMAX3 is already a thing, I thought "maybe 4 can be the last one" but... no.

I want this thread to remain open in case anyone wants to pick up the idea later (and if they still want my help I'll gladly volunteer), but for now, I'm afraid I'm no longer interested in managing this project. Sorry.

Cuzco, all I need is your permission to let me be the leader of this project.
