I watch the VoDs of the KAC, and I know the tryouts are really extensive, but a few questions have popped into my head because I'm a fan of esports (for other games, as Bemani titles are a tad hard to define), I have a tendency to root for certain players.
In tournament, I like to root for Brosoni (but I think he changed his name? I'm not sure). However, I also would root for Dr. D and Takaske , but I've not seen them play since one of the early tournaments which showed more but had pretty low production values. (I think someone not-Konami was recording.)
So, does anyone else have a favorite "competitive" player?
Also, are their entry restrictions to the event? Like, could Chris Chike enter if he met did the required songs to be considered or would he have to be a Japanese national or something?

A lot of people ask this so I'll just clear this up.
As far as I can tell. As long as you are in the region the Qualifiers take place and can make it to the finals, it doesn't matter what your nationality is. So theoretically if Chris was willing to hang out several months in Japan or another participating country, he would be able to enter and travel to the final round.
However there seems to be one exception to what I mentioned. I did try to enter in the Asia KAC tournament, I think that was in 2012, but due to the online form requiring you to enter your Citizen ID number for your country, I couldn't apply properly. The only options were Taiwan and Hong Kong at that time I think. I did write to Konami asking if it was still possible to enter but I never got a response back. Disappointing, yes, but I wasn't too upset in the end. Just wanted to mention that exception.
Fefemz is definitely that player I'll always root for, he's a monster, and not just at DDR. I love watching someone who can dominate in many different fields.

2012 was the one in Taiwan right? During X3? I remember being able to participate. Lost to a couple locals though, otherwise I could have met you in Taiwan :p

Oh, that's really cool. I always enjoyed watching Brosoni, so I was curious why people like others. I like how Bro wears those baggy pants with tails on their sides and just nailing songs anyway. Femfemz is a beast though. Can't say I dislike any of the high level players.
