I feel like there should be a page where everyone could submit songs to the album, or like a email for submissions only.

There's no real reason to make a dedicated page or email for submissions for this at the current moment.
I understand that it could streamline things more on the management side, but it's just as much work to pm us on the site versus sending an e-mail, so nothing would be gained for the general population.

Out of curiosity, those who are making music for this. What is your prepared setup (preferred program, track mixer, peripheral device or something else.) Because I haven't made any music in awhile so it be nice to see what works well for ya'll. Plus maybe help some others discover a way to make their own and carve a niche up in here. /) ^.. ^(\

To be honest, I don't have any massive, mind-blowing set up. FL Studio 11 is my home. (FL Studio 12 exists but I'm an old fashioned twat)

The only thing I do that's consistently not computer-generated is guitar/bass. For which I actually use my Rocksmith cable.

Same here. Generally I use SunVox (a tracker) to produce my music, and i'm currently learning to use Caustic 3.

Ladies and gentlemen, it's Saturday, June 18, so without further ado the ZENIUS-I-MANIA team are all set to make their big announcement.

ZENIUS-I-MANIA is pleased to announce it's revival, with new staff, after a year and a half in deep hibernation. To commemorate this event, we will now unveil our first album project.

The first album project of the reborn Z-I-M is... Drumroooollll...


As everyone who has even made a cursery glance at DDR could notice, the album title is a play to the iconic DDR song B4U. While referencing a BEMANI song on a BEMANI site run album was part of the intention, the primary reason the title was chosen was because, for many people here, our first introduction to music was DDR. This introduction to music eventually turned into a love for music, which turned into a passion, and eventually into a desire to produce music that they could call their own. The title was chosen to pay respects to one of the most iconic songs in BEMANI, while still cleverly working in the site name.

As this is the first album after such a long hiatus, we wanted the theme of o be open ended so people could go crazy and try to produce songs to the best of their abilities. That being said, you'll notice the submission deadline is 3 months from now. We ask that you please utilize this time to make the best song you can. There's no rush here, and we'd prefer quality over quantity. Ask around, and get some other opinions. I'd LOVE to see a music workshop thread started so that people can give useful criticism and feedback. Most importantly, have fun.

On a final note, thanks to the always amazing silverdragon for making an awesome album art on such short notice. You are incredible at what you do.

Anyways, with all that out of the way, ZENIUS-I-MANIA's rebirth album project begins... Now.

this is being done on a forum for bemani fans
the album theme is not bemani related

i'm just saying, there's a missed opportunity here

1) the first album wasn't actually a BEMANI remix album, it just happened to have a lot of a BEMANI remixes on it, and
2) as I stated, we picked an open theme so people could have fun and do whatever they want as this is essentially a reboot and we didn't to constrain people for the first album.

There may be a missed opportunity, but above all else we just want people to have fun for the first album.

As for the music workshop thread, that is a smart idea!

Is there a cap on number of entries per person?

Strictly speaking there is no cap, but as I mentioned we are aiming for quality over quantity. We'd prefer to see a few great entries from someone over a bunch of okay entries from them.
