Hi everyone,

I've recently got my hands on a Korean DDR cabinet but the CRT in it is nasty t-t.
Now, my question is - will I fry a normal monitor if I plug it into the VGA output that's at the back of the machine?

Please help ^^;;;;

Many thanks

That isn't a VGA connection in the back of a machine.

Kudos on getting a DDR Cab. I wish I had one. I think Dr. D is right.

Thanks Dr.D. That could have caused me some problems.
But what is it ^^?
Edit - so I see it's an RGB 15kHz connector. Is there a converter/cable that would make it work with an LCD monitor?

bmhedgehog - they do seem to pop up occasionally, I just could not resist. Now I have to learn how things work though.

They maybe popping up in Australia, but not here in America. And when they show up on Ebay you looking into the thousands for the price tag.

I think I just got burned. It's NZ, not Australia Tongue

To be fair, I've been on the lookout for a machine for about 2 years and that's the first that wasn't sold via private channels. Had to ship it from across the country too. I expect the quantity of the machines here is rather limited and most arcades prefer to store their machines instead of selling them on.

What causes the shortage in USA?

sorry man looked at your flag too quickly. So sorry for the burn.

well for the most part arcades here in the US are dying, if not already dead. If anything most of those machines most likely would wind up in the scrap heap and not being sold. And if being sold they go for thousands instead of hundreds or less. But I digress.

You'll need a CGA-VGA converter board or an XRGB to line double the 15khz 240p signal to 480p VGA. Be sure you have an LCD which supports 480p content and has a low response time (otherwise the gameplay will lag and your arrow timings will be off).
