Hi guys, Gabrimax here.
I'm making a theme for Stepmania 3.95 that resembles DjMAX Technika while keeping the gameplay like Stepmania.
I wanted to add a tip to the end of the LifeMeterBar that follows the path of the Bar.
Does someone know how to do it?
Thanks in advance
Gabrimax.
It's 3 days and no one has replied to the solution. Please, if someone knows how to do it just tell me how.

There aren't many people that know how to theme for SM3.95, and fewer yet who are still theming for SM3.95. It's an unsupported version of StepMania, it crashes a ton, and it's limited in what it can do. Why not do this in StepMania 5?

Pretty much all of this. Ditch 3.95 and go for the 5.Post #4 · Posted at 2014-09-02 08:02:07pm 9.6 years ago

Because i wanted to make this theme available for cabs, and since they use a modified version of 3.95 that's why i needed to make this for 3.95. It's a shame that there are a few people that know how to theme for 3.95, because i think it's a good build, despite all the crashes and such. So, am i forced to pass to step 5? :/ I really wanted to create this theme and have the possibility of arcade owners to have a "restyle" of the same game, while keeping the program intact.

I documented many aspects of theming in SM 3.95 before abandoning it myself for SM5 at the start of the year.
My Meatboy theme used only the progress bar tip, with a blank image for the meter itself, to do the entire "meatboy jumping over stuff" thing as the progress bar.
But really, I've got to echo what others have said. SM5 can do much more, it's easier to work with, and it's more stable. I've been running SM5 on my dedicab for 8 months. A few others run SM5 as well. 3.95 had a good run but I suspect it's days are numbered.

A lot of people with machines that used to have 3.95 on them are now switching (or are currently but have yet to make the jump) to SM5. I can't really say for much how it plays because I don't really get down to the technical aspect, but from what I have played on a friend's machine, it looks much refined and loads TONS faster than his previous theme on 3.95 (He had Simply Love for 3.95, switched it to the SM5 version and it has been amazing since, the timing on his machine has also improved too).

I don't think in Italy we will ever switch to stepmania 5, we have to thank that we have sm 3.95 haha.
Anyway, i'll study more your Meatboy theme, and if i ever find someway to do this i'll post here

Why not switch to SM5? It's still free. Are your machines ITG2? Because that may or may not be a problem (idk how easy it is to install vanilla SM on a cab, can someone else answer this?).
If they're OpenITG or default 3.95, then there should be no problem. Lights might need a little coaxing to actually work (i.e. I'm not sure if SM5 is set up for lights out of the box), but that's honestly a minor issue.

They are ITG2, so yea, i think it will be a bit tricky to do that... Anyway, i don't think a lot of arcades will accept to install SM5, it would take time to install that.
