So I thought why don't we start a thread for Connecticut, there doesn't seem to be one of those.

There's a SuperNOVA machine in Mohegan Sun (Uncasville) that charges $1 for 3 songs and is in pretty good shape.

Can I be an honorary Connecticut member? I have family in Connecticut that I visit semi-frequently and I usually play some dancey arrow smashy games while I'm around Tongue

My bro lives in Milford I know no DDR machines exist there. Haven't really ventured into New Haven to see if any exist there.

I heard there was an Extreme machine in some theater called Loews in Danbury, but I haven't gone out there because I really don't feel like asking my mom to drive that distance so I can play a possibly crappy DDR machine there.

The Extreme in Danbury is supposed to be pretty decent. I know that Dogman1227 plays there. There's also one at the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury outside of the Regal movie theater, and I can confirm that it is actually there. The last time I was there, it was unplugged, and I didn't want to risk getting bitched at by management for plugging it back it in.

I stopped at the Max 2 at CT Golf Land in Vernon one of the times I went and it was decent. Pads aren't perfect (both had a tendency to drop freezes), but the volume is extremely loud, and I really don't have any major complaints considering that it's only .25/1 token for 3 songs.

I personally really like GolfLand's machine. Nomads in South Windsor has an Extreme (Korean cab) that has some issues, but the arcade tech claims he'll try to fix them. They also have a pretty new PIU Pro (but the lag on the LCD is a little annoying). Foxwoods has a decent SN2. There are other places to play that I am less familiar with, but people in the ctrhythm facebook group may know more about them: www.facebook.com/groups/ctrhythm. The group's admins also maintain an up to date list of machine locations in the state... Lastly, Wallingford Bowl used to have an Extreme, but I bought it last week.

I was gonna play on Foxwoods's SN2 but we couldn't find the arcade and my mom was angry at me for only caring about the DDR machine as it is. So I've still never played any machine except for the SN at Mohegan Sun. Which is really a shame, because I could really use some variety. I've been playing the same cab once every 2 months for the past year.

The Foxwoods SN2 tends to have issues ALOT, I was there last week and failed the first song, a 7 that was going to be a warmup, but I didn't even get past 10 steps before It failed me. I tend to play at Mohegan a lot though as I get limited free play there, the pads tend to need work form time to time, but the tech people are usually right on top of that if you mention it to them.

as for where the arcade is, its called The Treehouse, and is over in the "Theater District" near Fuddruckers Restaurant

How come I never knew of this thread?

Anyways, as PureBlue said, the Extreme at the Danbury AMC is in the best condition of all the DDR machines I've found in CT that I've been to. Pad crap is not existent in the panels. Just one light on top is broken, and the speakers are a little muddled, in comparison to other machines I've played on, but it could be just the fact the echo is creating the muddled sound.

HOWEVER, if you ever find yourself in Shelton, at the Sports Center, in there is a 3rd MIX upgraded to Extreme that is utterly broken. The top lights, neon, speakers and screen work perfectly, but you can't play on the P1 side as the start button and left arrow on the front are broken, and the P2 side is impossible to play on as the left panel is unresponsive 9/10th of the time, not considering the right arrow on the front of the machine doesn't work (You've have to play in regular mode, and you have to change your difficulty in the game than at the beginning). You would have to stomp so hard to get the left arrow to register. It pissed me off because literally there was 5 free credits for it already in it, probably from the unaware people who wanted to play, but realized the game was broken when they tried to use the P1 side. Plus the machine doesn't return your coins. Even worse the machine is pushed away into the corner with the ski-ball machines which no one plays.

I just started the thread yesterday. Tongue

Ooo, so there is a good Extreme at Danbury. Also, any idea if one would be able to ask the Sports Center staff to fix the pads or something, or is it just a lost cause?

There's always machines down that don't give tickets in that arcade, and the people don't even bother to care, considering that there was Konami's Silent Sniper of Shooter (whatever it was called) that kept rebooting after trying to restart. Then there was one Sega machine that wasn't even on. The arcade workers really don't care as I can tell, so I say it's a lost cause with them...but I am considering buying it off them. I just need to gain quite a bit of space at my house so I can sort it safely, while I fix it.

There's a hacked ITG at the Cinema in Groton, the pads need some minor work, but it's not a major issue.

You should still tell them even if they don't end up caring. You won't know until you try.

I don't get to go the Danbury one much as it is, as I'm using my Dad's car to drive to work and college, so that one is pretty much a one in probably a year, or whenever my friends all get together and somehow want to go there.

I forgot to say this before, but there is a very good ITG2 Dedicab in Stamford at Fun 4 Kids. It's not hacked, but it is r21, so customs are enabled. I've only been once since I live about 90 minutes away and because well... Malikishtel knows the other reason lol. But I do strongly recommend Fun 4 Kids if you're in the area.

Oh, I've heard about that cab before but never looked into it enough to warrant a visit, since I live about that length away from it too. (or at least I think, I really can't be bothered to check)

Nomads in South Windsor recently bought a bunch of new sensors for their Extreme cabinet. The pads (especially the left side) are really good. I strongly recommend going there - it's probably the best public machine in the state at the moment.

*2 month bump I APOLOGIZE*

Well, in case anyone wants to know, I'll be in the Danbury/Waterbury area Sunday and Monday. I'm not 100% sure if I'll be at any dancey arrow smashy arcades, but if I am, I'd be up for meeting up with some people! Mostly likely at the AMC Danbury or Brass Mill Center in Waterbury.
