What a waste of a character slot.

So I guess I'm the only one that's happy Sonic is back? Haters gonna hate. I loved Sonic, and I'm glad he's back for the next one. Besides, he's owned by Nintendo now, so it's only fitting that he make a return, not a waste at all. Sure, there are a ton of better characters I'm sure everyone wants over him, but the Sonic fans, such as myself, would backlash if he wasn't in, so this is good.

I thought he was going to be replaced by a different third party character, but I'm definitely glad to see him back.

Still waiting for Ness and Lucas, lol

No he is not. Sonic is owned by Sega. Nintendo negotiated an exclusivity contract with Sega's Sonic IP for three games.

I really want to see some Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts characters, especially since last time, Cloud got beat by Sonic for making it in Brawl. I don't really care who gets added from either series, but some character from those series would be awesome.

Very nice to see Sonic back. :3 Always thought he fit in well with the Nintendo mascots. So does Megaman, but he was, well, announced a while ago.

Now that we have a new Kirby game announced, I want my Sir Meta Knight. With a different down-special so he can be unbanned... and just to have a move I like better. xP

Last I heard he was banned because of the tornado and the fact that he can fly under some stages to the other side, not his down-b.

At least that's what DBR said at the last gathering I saw them at.

Not amused really, they seem to just be announcing characters from Brawl that will be appearing in Smash 4, the new characters were definitely a surprise to see, but it just seems that for now, the announcements of characters are probably going to be characters we've already seen from Brawl, it would be cool if we got some characters from Melee that weren't included in Brawl be brought back...

I guess. I just didn't see the fuss since I had miserable luck maining Meta Knight since the tornado can be destroyed, he has no projectiles, and he's lightweight compared to my other mains. And the few (all local) tournies I vaguely recall were way more balanced than the ones I'm now reading about...

Not sure how to "fix" him other than lowering his attack priorities and/or speed. Again, could not main him for the life of me, so... xP It didn't help that he was new and I didn't have the patience to get destroyed as Meta Knight when it was way easier to beat people as Yoshi. ;>.> Bias, bias, bias.

I heard there was a very specific incident that caused metaknight to be banned in major tournaments. It involved someone hitting someone once, then flying under the stage back and forth so the other person couldn't do anything.

I still really hope either Ness or Lucas get in though( refer to the above sentence ^^),but especially Ness, since I control better with him.
Ness also has a couple more tricks with hims too that make using him something wonderful for me. His yo-yo can get rid of certain projectiles, use it at the right time and block some attacks, etc. PK Thunder 2 has also got to be one of my favorite moves to do in the game too. It just feels so satisfying hitting someone with it, and watching them fly. And PK fire can buy a bit of time on occasions with this guy.

I'm pretty sure all the characters (including Ness) from the N64 Smash Bros. will always be in the series no matter what. So I wouldn't worry about Ness not getting in. I'm sure Ness is in it, but not sure if Lucas would return.

It's nice to see all the returning characters and all but what about the newcomers? What other new faces will we have to play with?

I feel like what they're doing so far is revealing the veterans first and saving the other newcomers for last, especially since they're all supposed to have special trailers like Villager, Mega Man, and Wii Fit Trainer did.

That's right. Sonic will never ever be owned by Nintendo, unless , godforbid, Sega goes out of business.

My bad. I saw some love in here for Sonic, so no offense to the fans in here. Also my bad, yes Sonic will always be owned by Sega.
