DDR Extreme 2 is way better than other games when it comes to Dance Master Mode (mission mode).

That I'll agree with. Best mission mode in ANY DDR game.
However, I slightly like MAX better because of the song choices, although EXTREME 2 was downright kick ass.

EDIT: Ninja'd
I did prefer EXTREME 2 over DDRMAX because of its soundtrack.
DDRMAX did have a lot of unique songs, but I found half of them boring, including some of the licences, but Insertion was there, and I loved that.
EXTREME 2 had a mission mode that was actually playable, and incresingly challenging, while EXTREME had the increase, but by th 2nd half, the difficulty was all over the place, and sometimes impossible unless you memorized the steps.
EXTREME 2's lisences were actually really good in this mix (very close with DDRMAX2), and I don't recall missing any of them.
This mix also respawned a lot of old favorites from previous mixes which is nice, but it does feel like Deja Vu when you're only playing like 30 new songs, and the rest are ones you've played before.
On overall design and choice however, EXTREME 2 was definetly my favorite console DDR game, and was glad to see it win till the end.

Hey now, Street Master...
... yeah, even if I can never 100% Extreme 2 it was pretty fun. xP Now that I think about it, it was one of the few games with short newb missions instead of "play this whole song and get a C or above; I don't care if you're AAA material in the first thirty seconds"
As for Max's unlock system... I was missing Candy star until yesterday... guess that means it took years to unlock everything.
Poor X2. You do not know the true joy of Dice Master Mode unless you can fansquee over the squeaky steps and phrases while waiting hours to land on the one mission you can do, and then strategically rearranging the dice so it only takes several minutes. And if you can't enjoy that, well, that explains why no one liked it. xP

Luckily, I finished Dance Master Mode. The last (Butterfly) mission was easy. This mode is better than DDR SN2's Hyper Master Mode (which is almost good than the Extreme Mission Mode).
Edit: A few Dice Master Mode missions are impossible to beat in DDR X2. Seriously, How can I get a MARVELOUS FULL COMBO on Ubertruffen and Love is Orange!? I literally got shocked/mad when I saw the MFC mission. This is really, really idiotic.

Fine, let's make things interesting....
KING RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.
Glad EX2 made it to the top, MAX CS was ok at best, I really have no idea why it made it that far in the end versus Extreme 2.

I'm surprised as well, you could even say i'm purrplexed
That was pretty close there at the end, honestly thought Extreme 2 would pull away fast when there was only 2 left. I like it a little more than DDRMAX, if only because of the mission mode which was pretty cool and still the best one in any DDR.

MAX is cool because it has just a smorgasboard of songs from all the previous mixes at the time. But I was surprised MAX 2 didn't get as much love. I enjoy it way more than MAX 1

I prefer MAX simply because of the old school songs and exclusives, and I can pretty much freestyle to EVERY single song in the game with ease (yes, that includes MAX 300).

Well, I'm glad DDR Extreme 2 won. I've played the following DDR games:
--DDR (PS) [first I played, which is fitting because it was also the first to make it stateside]
--DDRMAX Dance Dance Revolution (PS2) [second one I played, pretty good]
--DDR Extreme 2 (PS2) [awesome]
--DDR Hottest Party 3 (Wii) [good but not great]
--DDR X (Arcade) [cheap hardware]
--DDR (Wii) [bad licenses, bad charts (especially Take Me )]
--DDR II (Wii) [what DDR 2010 should've been]
...and consider Extreme 2 to be the best of the 7, with DDR II in second place, but not by a lot.
Here's the song list for those of you who aren't familiar with Extreme 2:
