Here’s my scoring method. Please note that not all my explanations for a score are required. (I.E. A simfile can have no errors, but isn’t too fun to play):

UNBELIEVABLE – Flawless execution, stood out; absolutely no errors
AWESOME – Great simfile, very fun to play; almost no errors
SWEET – Pretty good simfile, little errors
NOT BAD – Average simfile, nothing too exciting; some errors
MEDIOCRE – Not too fun; errors scattered
SHODDY – Not fun to play at all; errors throughout
OH HELL NO – Don’t make simfiles like this ever again

With that being said, let’s get down to business.


Baby Bleep March (xXMokou98Xx)

...What... are you kidding me!? Right off the bat, an amazing simfile. There was absolutely nothing wrong with all three of your charts, and each were amazingly executed and extremely fun to play.

I LOVE IT.

Verdict: UNBELIEVABLE


Colorful Cookie (Chewi☆)

Welcome to the Simfile Shuffle, Chewi. Let’s see what you got here...

Your heavy chart was pretty good, and it deserves some praise. However, I don’t want to be too rude, but I felt like you must have put all your focus on your heavy chart and made your light and standard charts just to make your simfile feel complete. When I was playing them, I didn’t feel too much drive from them. Points off for that.

Nice overall, but I want to see more out of you, Mr. Simfile Police. :V

Verdict: SWEET (teehee irony)


Cry Cry (Telperion)

Oh my goodness, I love this. By far, the best thing about this simfile are the BPM changes, especially the ones in the middle of the song. I would have never thought about doing something like that.

Every single difficulty I played kept me interested throughout the chart. Even in the downbeat sections, you managed to keep the simfile full of vibe. Hats off to you, Mr. Telperion, because this is the best simfile you made in this contest.

Verdict: UNBELIEVABLE


flower dance (Scarz)

Yooooooo dude, you gotta be careful with your ratings, bro, especially with light. That was so not a 2. It was at least a 4. Standard not a 4, but a 5, and heavy? ...OH DUDE. YOU GAVE THAT A SEVEN?! Yeesh, hard 8/easy 9.

With that aside though, I do think you did a great job with your steps. This song is not easy to manage into a stepfile. You kept a very nice pace along each of your difficulties, and I commend you for that.

Next time, watch your ratings, please?

Have You Never (Braeden47)

Oh hey, Lazytown.

I liked your BPM changes. Light was alright, standard was pretty good, and heavy was pretty good too.

I would have given this simfile a SWEET verdict, but there’s one thing that prevented me from doing that. It forced you down two verdicts, unfortunately. YOUR SYNC. YOUR OFFSET WAS TOO EARLY

Verdict: MEDIOCRE


Hot Air Balloon (Mandora Opening Theme) (Garik+)

I’ve never played Mandora, but boy, do I love this song. It’s catchy. :3

Alrighty then, the steps for all of your difficulties were pretty solid. I just wish there was something striking about them. I’m not saying they’re bad, because they’re not, but I was hoping for a little more drive. Still a pretty good file, though.

Verdict: NOT BAD


Magic Girl (Lisek)

Good BPM Changes? Check.

Light was great. Even though the steps were very easy, it didn’t detract from the mood of the song. Standard was good, but my one complaint were that some of your freeze arrows were slightly too long.

Heavy had the same issue as standard, but there was a bigger problem. Most of the time, I was facing to the left. The right side was a little lonely and needed more love and attention. Poor right side.

Challenge was genius. These steps pretty much sold me. Good job.

Verdict: SWEET


Queen of Rose (Rachel’s Theme Song) (~SilverStar~)

Catie’s debut on the Simfile Shuffle. Let’s see if she did good. ...and she did. She did more than good. She did GRRRRRRRRREAT. (plz dont sue me mr. tiger) This song sounds pretty hard to step, but you managed to make a great simfile out of it. Kudos.

Now, even though this isn’t the style of simfiles that I like to play, you did very well. I cannot wait to see more out of you in the future.

Verdict: AWESOME


Rolling in the Nexus (ddrstepper)

This is a cool remix.

Your light chart was fantastic, but because of your freeze arrows (awesome btw), it should have been rated a 4. Standard was pretty nice, it was rated right. Heavy had some pretty cool elements into it, like offbeat rhythms and spins.

Good job.

Verdict: AWESOME


SEB 4 U (AkihiroIIDX)

You executed the buildup of the song really nicely in your steps.

Light was okay. Standard was okay. Heavy had some technical shit going on in there, like those freeze arrow steps and your jumps. It reminded me of my Praludium file. I like that. :3

This is a good file, but your lower difficulties pulled your verdict down quite a bit. :/

Verdict: NOT BAD


The Club (Blinded_No_More)

Light was really well-made. You didn’t make it too ridiculous. I really liked standard, although I did have to doublestep a bit. Heavy was really crazy. The steps you put into the song matched to the song’s rhythm and mood.

I do notice you like to copy and paste some steps. However, you do it right.

Verdict: AWESOME


On an overall note, great job, you guys! This might be the highest quality round in the contest.

Thanks. The reason I didn't make those steps as hard/complex rhythm-wise is because if I wanted to do that, I would have made a challenge chart. Which aren't required for this contest.

I didn't put all my focus on my expert chart, thank you very much. I wanted to make easy charts because not every fast song needs the ratings 2/4/6/8. Also, I don't think that's "ironic".

Was originally going to append this to my original post, but for whatever reason, 1/2 the files dont load the banners at all. I don't know if the .sm was changed or the banner file names themselves were changed, but i've noticed this happening a lot.
