oh God, I haven't used either in forever, but now I feel like I won't ever really play anymore despite owning cards.

Azneyeswhitedragon aka slaydra has pretty much sums it up for me.

I dunno if this new Yu-Gi-Oh video game is going to deliver is promises, cause all the others have fallen short.

I agree that Konami should have waited for the product to come out and see if everyone is going to migrate to it then shut down DN and YGOPro. But if this fails then its Goodbye to Yu-Gi-Oh for good.

"Grade A KONMAI Quality"
I'm in the group he mentioned where I used to play growing up and stopped for a long time until I discovered DN and YGOPro. The ability to have every card at my disposal and try out all sorts of deck builds and strategies re-invigorated my love for Yu-Gi-Oh and I play it nearly every day and have for the last year or two. Once I built the deck I was happy with, I bought cards so they made money off of me where before, I never would've even thought about getting back into the game.

Without the ability to play a game like that, I also agree this will kill Yu-Gi-Oh in a flash. People will be just look at the new packs for sale but they won't buy them without being able to test the cards first and figure out whether they want to spend their money to upgrade their deck. This is really a sad day, but I do hope that new game will blow us away. Even if they don't give full access to every card right off the bat, at least make it where you can buy packs in the game that are the actual packs as we bought them. That way I can earn in-game money and buy the packs likely to contain the cards I want. No more of this "You won a duel, here's 5 completely random cards out of a million."

Is this the new Yu-Gi-Oh game that shut down DN and YGOPro? Or is there something bigger in the works?

Man what is up with the Duel Terminal style gameplay? I want 5 Monster Zones and 5 Spell/Trap Zones not 3. Plus no deck editor!? WTF? This game is already turning me off and away.

Also I see a 573 perfect for the Konami Number Unintended Appearance.

I doubt it's the replacement, but I could be wrong. I'm saying this because Konami has surprised us in the worst ways known to man, so honestly, it might be. But I say it's not because there seems to be other Yu-Gi-Oh! video games planned, too.

In my opinion, I guess the game somewhat looks interesting in the sense of fueling the anime feel more than anything, but that's about it. Nobody probably will want to spend a few dollars for a pre-made deck and nothing else, so it's possible that the game might be horribly limited. In that case, people might be interested for a few minutes or hours, then drift away, like every other attempt they have made.

But I wanted to highlight the news today, because Yu-Gi-Oh!'s companies are JUST NOT STOPPING with the disappointment. North American World Championship Qualifier (NAWCQ)'s Semi Final and Final match was NOT streamed. They ended the stream after Top 8...I kid you not!

More about that here:

Possible update on what happened from a commenter (iRaid urFridge) on Youtube:

"As someone who was there, I can say that they started the finals during the feature because they were short on time. The convention center staff were ready to kick us all out if we stayed any later. I should also add that, like last year, they played the Semis the same time as the decider matches and only stream a decider match. Since it [referring to this year] was the largest nationals ever, the judges and staff had alot to prepare in a little amount of time. They had to bring a bunch of tables in, we started day 1 at 1 PM when we should have started at 11, and we could only play 8 rounds of swiss when it was originally supposed to be 9. I forgot to mention that alot of major roads were closed due to a parade or something (idk lol). Alot of people got there late because the only time they told us was literally minutes before pre-registration ended on Friday. Nothing on the site."

Feel free to comment and discuss.

I've heard an awful lot concerning the new Dueling Book simulator. Been hearing a lot about that on Zodiac Duelist (a group i'm in).

I like the concept behind Link Summon, and also like that it will likely slow down a lot of Extra Deck spam decks (although some of them are unfairly nerfed, such as Synchron).

It's also hilarious how forgotten cards as Senet Switch and Ground Collapse have risen in price since the announcement of Link Summon.

I should have held on to my yugioh junk.
Kept the good commons that'll never budge in price like Manju, but Senet Switch and Ground Collapse?
God...I should have known.
I should have known.

Sorry for the necro bump. I am like playing this game on and off now as I now am in competitive retirement. I do still have a number of decks to play for the new Link Era! (or Master Rule 4 format, I won't judge what you call it)

Senet Switch and Ground Collapse are bad. They really do not do much this link format and my locals is living proof behind that. If you did want to play a card that does use columns, try Blasting Fuse. Card is mediocre but is at least better than the other horrible spells. If anything, try Castle Link as you can actually move your own link monsters!

Anyways, what are you guys doing for Link/Master Rule 4 format? I personally have a link variant of ABC and a build for Ritual Beasts and a Cyberse deck of which I still need to build up.

I'm currently playing a True King/Dinosaur/Yang Zing deck. It has had good success in my locals so far, though to be honest I'm not playing mid-big tournaments as of late because of judge duties.

Waiting for the mid-September banlist before deciding to build another deck.

Chain Burn all day, every day.
It's the only deck I assembled and had any success with.
No one sees it coming.
Everyone plays the same 2-3 decks a season.

What's cool about the new Dueling Book is that you can import your decks from YGOPro/DevPro from their .ydk files.
