Discuss Wii U in here!

So who's got one? I got mine on release day. Smile

Only have Nintendo Land so far, waiting for prices to drop below £30 each.

A week ago, I played a Wii U at a Gamestop an hour away from me (because I was meeting up with my cousins and had chineese), and one of the demos was for Rayman Legends. I tried it out...

...It was fucking awesome.

However, I'm not too sure if I should pay for it, because I know I might just leave it there collecting dust for a period of time, then come back playing it again, and leave it there again.

I'm hoping a WarioWare game is in the works for this.

OH MY GOD a WarioWare game would be amazing for the Wii U. It would be like TWISTED and Touched! in one, kinda.

The closest to a WarioWare game is currently Game & Wario, which is also being developed by Intelligent Systems. Unlike WarioWare though, it features mini-games which are, well, longer than the micro-games found on the WW games.

I haven't got a WiiU yet, and I don't plan on picking one at least until like the end of the next year, sadly Sad

My brother bought 3 pre-orders for the Wii U Deluxe Bundle and sold 2 of them on ebay for profit, so he pretty much got it for free. I thought Nintendo Land would be boring, but it's pretty fun. I'm planning on getting New Super Mario Bros. U later today. It would be awesome if they did have the next DDR on the Wii U.

Also, I hope they do make another Wario Ware for this and a new F-Zero game.

I plan to get New Super Mario Bros. U sometime in the future, but not at an eye-gouging £40+ that every retailer wants at the moment.

I have a deluxe WiiU, but i'm holding out on games such as Mario and hopefully getting it for Christmas, as it's $60. Aside from the built-in software and NintendoLand, I currently have Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition and Nano Assault Neo.

I prolly would've waited/ skipped it, but my boyfriend was sucked into the idea from all the previews and got the Deluxe version. Nintendo Land is amazing, but it helps a ton that we have like 3-5 players instead of one.

New Super Mario Bros is... all right. Still full of accidentally killing your friends. After a while, it was more frustrating than hilarious, but maybe that's just me. ;P Guess the platform helper puts a band-aid on that.

We also got the Sonic Racing game. I haven't played enough to give a review on it, but it's definitely pretty fun.

And I would reeeeeeally like Wonderful 101 to come out.

And I'm still investing on expanding my Wii game library, which I hope to include Eternal Darkness (I know its a Gamecube game, I have a backwards-compatible Wii).

I likely won't be getting a Wii U soon. I'll have to see the reviews of this one when I have the time.

I am getting one for Christmas. I was able to open and update it at my home because the family doesn't have any form of internet and is wanting to play some games when I unwrap it, and from the small feel I got I really think its going to be neat.

We recently picked up a Wii U from Best Buy. So far we've only played Nintendo Land and Scribblenauts Unlimited, but it's been pretty fun so far.

The Wii U Tablet is nice, it has a nice feel to it and is really easy to learn to use after a few minutes with it. Nintendo Land is great, all of the games we've played in it so far have been a blast, and the Legend of Zelda game handles better than Skyward Sword, believe it or not. Scribblenauts is just pure hysterical fun, the combination of things you can do and some of the hilarious results we've come across so far have made this worth the price. If anyone is still unsure about getting a Wii U, I definitely recommend it, but if you're concerned with price, maybe wait until after Christmas/New Year's.

Is it just me, or does the Wii emulation on the WiiU look terrible? There's no smoothing at all, and no upscaling. Virtual console games suffer from the same issue.

If any of you still play Wii games, then play them on the Wii, not the WiiU. Not only that, but the WiiU requires a "system update" to enable backwards compatibility for the Wii, after the system connects to the internet for the first time, and it's very time consuming so it's not like you can play your old Wii games straight out of the box. Annoyed

The other issue I have is that the system crashes occasionally, and many users on MiiVerse have complained on system crashes as well, so it's not like i'm the only one who has this problem. I've already experienced crashes on HuluPlus and Nano Assault Neo. Others have complained about NintendoLand crashing after an update for that game.

Nintendo had a timeframe of six years between the Wii's and WiiU's launch dates, so there is no reason why they shouldn't of spent that time making the system's software more stable. Annoyed

I'm enjoying the system overall, other than those two things.

When X360 and PS3 started there were tons of updates in the first year, give it time.

The second patch is supposedly supposed to have fixed the freezing issues which was released yesterday. I have never experienced a freeze so I cannot confirm.

I got mine less than 2 months ago. Decided I would give nintendo another shot after I was disappointed with my Wii and sold it some years back.

The main reason I bought one was because I do love a lot of titles by nintendo like zelda, metroid, mario, etc. I planned on getting the Wii games to play them on my Wii U.

I inn incorrectly assumed I could just download those titles from their market place since thats what you can do on xbox but to my surprise the market is pretty much barren of games. I figured the virtual market would be at least as full as the Wii one but boy was I wrong.

Currently I haven't had any use of Wii U since I only have nintendo land and find it rather boring. Looks like I either got to order games overseas (living in taiwan but console region is USA) or possibly look into modding it now or later.

Has anyone modded their Wii U yet?

Modding the Wii U? No such thing at the moment. The Wii side can be modded IIRC.

I'd be fine just playing the Wii games and hopefully the gamecube games.

I know there are mods now for playing the Wii side of the console but it seems there are some risks of ruining your console if done, thats why I was asking if anyone here has tried it yet.
