Kind of what I expected: the same songlist with a few removals here and there. It's still cool to see a semi-localized Bemani location test again, and I hope it does well.
Going by the Bemanistyle Instagram videos, here's all the licenses they took out:
DDR 2014:
Every U.M.U. song
DDR 2013:
ウッーウッーウマウマ(゚∀゚) (Speedcake Remix)
オリオンをなぞる
ずっとみつめていて (Ryu☆Remix)
Choo Choo TRAIN
LOVE & JOY -Risk Junk MIX-
Mickey Mouse March(Eurobeat Version)
(edit: forgot one song)

I didn't really like the LOVE & JOY remix only because I wasn't a fan of the original but I think it's an okay song, I still wanted to play that Caramelldansen remix on a new cabinet though just to annoy the hell out of all the people around me. When I played it at Acme Bowl it was around closing time so there weren't a lot of people around.

I really hope that this comes to the east with the D&B test literally for no other reason than me to be the biggest nerd playing Touhou songs on DDR. Anyways, it's pretty exciting to see that it's (mostly) the same as JP 2014, especially given the possibility of event completions so soon in the US.

Hooray for lack of U.M.U. songs! :3 Too bad they still have all the animu crap, but you bastards probably love those anyway. With the test clearly grabbing a good amount of attention from the public (freaking sign-up sheets!), american e-amuse and the game and cabinet remaining mostly intact from the japanese version, I haven't been this excited for so long as a huge DDR fan. Part of being such a fan is knowing you aren't the only one that enjoys the games and seeing other people get into it, so this is a great chance to garner some more interest for the series in the west. I do hope they will whip up plenty of upgrade kits for the older cabs scattered everywhere in the west, so more people will have access to the new game and e-amuse.

The only real problem is that almost all of the remaining us cabs are either Extreme, SN, or SN2. Unless I'm wrong, wouldn't it be impossible to upgrade from them using a standard issue upgrade kit? I do hope I'm wrong though, since I'm not sure how many arcades would buy a whole new machine to replace their old one that they inevitably have.Post #7067 · Posted at 2015-08-05 07:03:42am 8.7 years ago

Hey!, I like to play that crap!. Let me be!
I really, really want DDR 2014 in Chile, the biggest arcade in here always teases us with IIDX or DDR 2014 but they know they will bring people if DDR 2014 gets into their local.

I think it might just be a hardware swap.

Everyone in Chile needs a machine like that, but the dirty business on regions make this impossible. If "Diana" gets one of this, i'm satisfied. (Sent from Valparaiso)
Back to the LocTest, I'm get impressed with the online services, even more including BoP and EXTRA ATTACK translated, and the actual BEMANI Summer Dairy Event.

Honestly, I'm sad to see this song go... Not because I like that song (trust me), but having a weeaboo shit song like that can help the location test get casuals into playing the game. Going by the Bemanistyle Instagram videos, here's all the licenses they took out:

Remember, konami thought the beatmania gold failed because the game didn't capture casual players.

Is anyone even going to get to OTP by the time the location test is over?
Actually I don't mind lending my game data for you guys to try it out for half day/1 day to have a sneak preview of RDi. All I need is your eamuse pass details with no official DDR game data.
I'm only fearful that I may get corrupted save when I switch back to the main eamuse server, or even crash the machine on the Asian side. Lol.

It seems that it will go well.
I checked a player's data (in this video https://instagram.com/p/5_RGOPguWw/) on official homepage, and it worked.

I see complaints about certain songs NOT being removed, and I must facepalm.
I also see people celebrating certain songs being removed, and I must facepalm.
(I see all those people crying over "konmai doesn't care" with egg on their face, too)

They took out the only licenses (Caramelldansen and Mickey Mouse March) that appealed to America? That's not a good sign.
Looks like DDR's gonna be just as limited as the other current BEMANI games in the U.S. and no other arcade chain is going to want to plunk down the extra cash for eAmuse. I mean, picture the pitch:
I know I know, pessimism, but I don't see anybody but Round 1 having the funds and initiative to do this, and even they can't expand to a country-wide presence.

"Our arcades already stock DDR SuperNOVA. Why should we make such a big upgrade?"
"There are over 300 new songs and the cabinet as a whole is much more spiffy."
"OK, but what about actual popular songs? Most of the revenue we get is from casual players who play Jerk It Out or Centerfold."
"Well, we don't have any pop songs anymore, but that's just a trifle really."
"..."
"We've also got events for dedicated players to grind."
"It's like you're not even listening, we don't have enough of those types of players to make that worth it! This isn't going to work." *leaves the pitch*

Rival features are available (fully translated).
Workout features are available (fully translated but still in kg rather than lbs).
Also, the 2nd mix remixes on X3 have been removed (including Paranoia kskst, PYFIM DA remix, Brilluant 2U AKBK mix, etc.)

I get that were excited about the location test and everything (I am too, don't worry) but this announcement is lacking discussion. Why is no one acknowledging this? I thought everyone was waiting for this or something like this, at least.
