What I'm curious about is how feasible it is to upgrade some of our older cabinets, even if it's upgrading the Betson X/X2s to at least render it playable. On one hand, those are pads that aren't the one sheet of metal with square holes cut in them, but at the same time, I wonder how much it's going to cost arcade owners to buy these new cabs if that's what we're going to get. Though given the recent opening of Main Event here in Tulsa proving that people will buy new cabinets if them having the newest Pump It Up has anything to say about it, it still makes me a little concerned that arcade owners aren't going to shell out the money if it doesn't spit out tickets.

Seeing those pics of the beautiful cabinet make me think, "Is it 1/2PM yet?!"

Here's hoping the songlist is relatively unscathed, but the bigger question would be, if RDI is accessible, are the requirements gonna be far less taxing for the sake of the test? Because I doubt 90% of the people have eAmuse cards yet, let alone had access to this game (unless they flew all the way from Nanuet Arcade. ;I )

Don't know why we'd be holding our breath over RDi. It's only just a loctest. I highly doubt they're gonna make everything accessible in a loctest.

I figured it would have RDI simply because I'm betting it's just the exact same game JP has with updated text.

My best guess: There may be instructions with how some of the e-amuse unlock features work, and it would be sort of like a default songlist and see how various players respond to unlock methods.

Yeah, I'm thinking that they are going to advertise the cards in some way, shape or fashion now that it's finally a thing; as I said back when they "expanded the service globally" in March, they wouldn't be doing that for no reason, and I found it weird that they didn't even bother translating the non-Japanese accounts at all. Maybe they are hoping to fix that, and if/when the location test is successful, give the American eAmuse accounts a proper translation.

If it were the exact same game JP has, we would not get RDI because we don't have Paseli.

HOWEVER, it is NOT the exact same game JP has, luckily. (still doesn't guarantee that we have access to RDI)

Bemanistyle also reported that this version can be playable offline, but there's no PREMIUM features when offline and none of the additional songs are available to play so I'm 99% sure there's no RDi songs avaliable in this version.

Hmm... so are songs written in Japanese going to be transliterated if/when DDR2014 is released in America? The Instagram post showed that the song "Asairo no kamihikouki" was still left in Japanese.

But still, I wish I was there for the loctest! I hope it goes really well!

Aww, oh well; it would've been silly to let people access RDI with only a week to work for it, anyway.

On the bright side, at least Konami isn't being anal about this location test like they did when they were testing Jubeat/Ubeat/Jukebeat at the arcades, since they wouldn't even let people know the test was going on, let alone allow people to record footage of it. >>

That is RIDICULOUSLY disappointing and frankly it's a massive missed opportunity.
