i seriously doubt hinabita is going to be in the loctest, from what i'm aware the songs are only being added because they're popular with japanese audiences, a trait which they do not share with american audiences
However, they are Konami Originals, which means that, as long as they're in the Japanese version, they should be eligible for use worldwide. I mean, stuff like DROP, MAX Love, LOVE SHINE, Baby's Tears (SN2), and Trust weren't barred from use in the U.S. despite their appeal being primarily/only for Japan.
Licenses on the other hand are a different deal, as I suspect many were licensed for Asia only once X3 was developed. If we're lucky, we might get:
DDR 2014
EXIT TUNES licenses and collabs
DDR 2013
Caramelldansen
Mickey Mouse March
DDR X3
-nothing-
DDR X2
IF YOU WERE HERE
DDR X
30 Lives
Butterfly
Dub-I-Dub
'Till the Lonely's Gone
Hopefully, they either have a smattering of new licenses planned or they do cross over more of the Japanese licenses than I'm expecting, because otherwise this is going to be a meager and unwelcoming setlist for casual players, a.k.a. what'll make this venture work.
Anyway, can't wait to see what we get tomorrow!

X2 was almost perfect it's like Konami wanted to give us almost everything we want, just like DDR 2014 (and some of 2013) now.
X2 is perfect! What are u talking about?
For the new song, it's good. So glad DDR is participating in the summer event. I think all of the orginal songs inevent should be crossed over to DDR at some point. A nice change after the medicore crossovers we got before.

I'm not quite sure about some of the patterns in the chart but the song is cool.
It seems like a lot of difficulty was purposely held back. Challenge coming maybe? I could see it being a solid 17.

i don't understand how having extra attack means no need for more challenge charts.
in fact challenge charts do get unlocked thru extra attack.

No, it is only 11AM in California at the moment and the location test is not slated to begin until 1PM (but most likely later due to setup and the daily e-amuse maintenance)

Not sure if this have been posted... But it mentioned DDR sound team:
That's a lot of things we knew years ago, regurgitated with a lot of bias and vitriol :{
Yes, gaming as a whole is moving away from AAA titles and towards mobile and phone gaming. Konami are very ahead of the curve in this respect, and have been putting their existing properties to use in mobile games and AWP (gambling) games. Games like Reflec Beat and Beatstream have been designed from the ground up as games which can make a lot of money in arcades, and can easily be ported to the iPad, as a secondary market.
The merging of the sound teams is something that happened a hell of a long time ago, and a lot of people kicked up a fuss when it happened. The old sound design philosophy was to compose Konami Original songs for DDR with the gameplay in mind. Composers essentially went out with the mindset of 'make a song which will be fun to play in DDR'. When a song became incredibly popular, and Konami wanted to have it crossover into IIDX of Pop'n Music, they'd have to figure out how to 'make it work' in IIDX.
The philosophy these days is to make Konami Original songs that are fun across the board. Even though a song like Condor shows up first in DDR, and works very well in DDR, the intent in writing the songs are always for them to be easily ported to Jubeat / Reflec / Whatever. It also lets Konami run events where a set of songs are released into every single game at once, which is obviously what the Bemani series is built around right now. Some argue that it means we get less songs / blander songs / higher quality songs / whatever, but DDR and IIDX are still around and are apparently sustainable in the modern market, so it's unquestionably a business choice that benefits the Bemani scene.
As for people losing their jobs, that's true, but it's no bad thing for us as music game players. Games like IIDX are sustainable, because they require a small staff of composers, chart designers and programmers. They don't contain hours and hours of dramatic pre-rendered cut-scenes, voice actors, and large, detailed environments. Those are things which are considered excessive in a videogame industry where the most popular and most profitable games are Puzzle & Dragons, Yokai Watch and Monster Hunter. People who deal with producing AAA games are going to get forced out of the Japanese games industry, and move towards the American industry, or into the movie industry. Videogames as a whole are moving towards the design philosophies that make Bemani games successful, and there are more music games hitting the market right now than I can ever remember coming along at once.
Everyone I know at Konami is of the opinion that this isn't a big restructuring, but the internet starting to notice the shift in the industry, and becoming alarmed by it, because change is bad. As far as we're concerned, this is a shift towards putting even more of a focus on E-Amuse games (particularly music games), and freeing up resources, so that Japan can possibly get more of them.

I'll be hype once some hard evidence shows up that this location test will mean the game will be present in the country beyond just a handful of locations like it already is.
