X2 was almost perfect, it's like Konami wanted to give us almost everything we want, just like DDR 2014 (and some of 2013) now.

Looks like the location test is TOMORROW and which means the songlist for the US version would be like...Maybe dance-oriented music or ULTRAMIX 3-style licensed song list.

There really shouldn't be that many.

Sad that Rinon is only a temporary unlockable character. She seemed like the most popular character (even if the poll years ago learned toward Alice) and makes this event more eye-catching and all.

Wouldn't it have shown a ?? in the Challenge slot if there were Challenge charts for the songs? I kind of think Over the Period will be the only one getting Challenge, aside from Max Period.

Nah, even songs that eventually get Challenge charts are treated like they don't have them on the difficulty select. The only indication of Challenge charts is the cabinet lights, which for songs like EGOISM 440 are almost always on anyway so it's hard to tell if it's any different from the Expert chart.

I'm really interested in seeing if they change up the songlist at all for the US location test. Most of the popular western licenses from past games have been removed from DDR2013 and the new Konami Originals have moved away from the traditional English vocal pop/dance songs that were prominent throughout most of DDR's lifespan to more 'harder' sounding genres with more Japanese vocals, so it would seem kind of unusual to me if they kept that exact songlist for the American release considering they've always tried to cater to Western music taste when it comes to American releases.

Interesting timing too with DDR being the focus of this week's livestream on the same day the American location test is starting (not technically the same day but because of the time zone differences both events will be happening within 24 hours of each other). Almost makes me wonder if they'll have a smidgen of new Western-oriented songs/licenses for the US location test that will subsequently serve as a song update for the Asian version of the game. Wishful thinking perhaps.

Due to work I won't be able to go to the location test during the week but I may stop by this weekend depending on what the reports are and/or if any friends are going that I can hang out with.

My best guess is that they probably won't actually include any western licenses if it's just a location test. Probably remove a lot of the current licenses except for things a typical audience might know. (Caramell, Mickey Mouse, etc.) - Though if DDR X said anything, I think a lot will change from the times in between the various location tests and (if) something is released. After all, weren't we supposed to get the aesthetically lit-up cabinets until they were all, "Hey, let's just recycle these Guitar Hero cabs and use them for DDR, no one will know the difference!" ?

Well, the aracde releases never really had any diffrence in non-Konami songs. I wouldnt expect removals or additions. I mean they didnt take out the j pop in X and X2.
