honestly people, give it a little thought. you would realize the immense chore that is attempting Over The Period. that time and money could be spent better on other things. (and that's what most people choose at this point of time)

They do, but why would an arcade put a machine on FREE PLAY?

Yeah, unless the arcade owner is a die hard DDR fan, I don't see anyone being able to coerce the staff to put the machine on free play mode if it's going to cost them X amount of credits potential. It's still a business in the end.

The only times I've ever seen an arcade have their machines on freeplay are if there's a sort of "buffet" style flat fee for the whole arcade's selection or if there's an event for DDR specifically...so yeah, the only way that'll be efficacious is if an arcade starts a general, non-competitive "チャレンジ「オン期間」合格！" event, and yeah, as mentioned, no arcade owner is gonna care that much about one song. Not to mention, I believe most features of the game require premium play, which free play (I believe) doesn't allow.

also remember that there's eAmuse participation, where Konami gets a certain amount of money for every credit played so yeah

You're right. when game is running on free play mode, you can't access RDi folder because it's available in premium play using paseli.

F*** it. I'm going balls to the wall playing OTP Difficult again. I've had a long enough break from it and I got remotivated recently and convinced 513 to join me on this futile quest. We'll be playing late hours and using every trick at our disposal to get as far as possible. We are starting this weekend and will continue until this damn song is passed, though that's unlikely.

This is the real important part now. Before, putting a machine on freeplay didn't matter. Now, putting a machine on freeplay means the arcade is actively losing money on every game.

can KON even AA MAX. CSP with less than 4 misses? i know i can't, that's why i won't bother with OTP DSP.

KON has no chance, lol. He can't AA most 17s, what chance does he have with a top-tier 18?

Well you don't need* to be able to AA Max. on 
in order to play OTP . As in as long as you play Max. with someone who could pass it, even if you fail Max. on your side you still will gain access to OTP .
Hell, part of my bag of tricks is making sure that I play it when with another player. It's not that I can't AA Max., I just don't want to go into OTP with 1.25... Eventually, needing to read at that low speed might become mandatory to actually clear the damn thing unless a different trick works, as in 513 watches my side in beginning of OTP on 3x then, if he makes it past the beginning, continue reading his side on 1-1.25. Lots of "Ifs" and special circumstances. I will only say that I have found a way of cutting the time in half to attempt the song. And no, it doesn't involve any network manipulation.
