"girl is very beautifu"
When I was little whenever we stopped at the mall me and my dad would go to the Tilt and I'd play games and watch the people play DDR and Pump. Of course whenever I tried at the time I kind of sucked, but I latched on to the game really quickly and for some god forsaken reason almost ten years ago on Christmas my dad bought be a copy of DDRMAX 2 and a tournament pad. Almost ten years ago. Holy guacamole this game has indirectly ruined my life

When I found out about DDR it was 7 years ago and we had a ddr supernova 2 machine (sad to say but right now it's a piece of crap and no one fixes it) I've been un defeted for about 6 years now but I still can only get AA's and the only song where I got close to an AAA was an obvious one shades of grey and my score was 989,980 you could only imagine how mad I was but yet I can sol get an easy a/aa on challenging songs. So 7 years later I play a song 20000 times and I am a perfect or marvous away.EvilChallengeHeavy I LOVE 日本

Well, when I was just a wee lad (maybe 7? 8?) I kept on hearing about this game. And it sounded so awesome. Even more when Burger King decided to give out DDR themed toys. I heard the song played on the commercial (I swear it was Until Forever) and I knew right then that I wanted to play DDR. I got that chance a few years later (2009?) when my cousins got Supernova 2 (DDR was kinda considered dead at the time) ; I hogged the game then made my parents buy it for me, and BAM! instant DDR fan! Evil PuppyChallenge
Having been playing it for 5 years now, I didn't start getting really obsessed with it until this summer Laughing Out Loud
Now DDR is literally my life: from the awesome music to the colorful and wonderful characters

I found DDR when I was considerably young, if I remember I was 6 years old. I was on a holiday and it was the time for me to go to the arcade for the first time! When I got here I was hooked from the racing games but there was one game that also caught my attention: Dance Dance Revolution. It was a DDR Extreme machine and I consider myself to be lucky to have seen that first, mostly because on that area ITG machines were predominant. One night I decided to play the game and...it was instant love! The songs I heard were awesome and, despite I was just a Beginner player, I had lots of fun! My roster of songs were limited to the green ones (especially I DO I DO I DO... I was hooked with that one XD) and it would have extended to blue/yellow songs later on. Coincidentally, which was about 3 years after, this was also the progress from Beginner to Light and, man, it felt so awesome! Thanks to this I also managed to hook up some girls, but that's another story. I eventually left playing the game for...no reason by the release of Supernova 2 if I recall but I eventually got back playing when I heard again of the game at his 2013 release. And that's when I became a Standard player. It's not a big level, but I'll eventually reach the Heavy level....I mean, I am able to A the easiest ones, so I think I'll make a step further soon

And the song that pratically represents my experience? 3 2 1 Stars! I just love it and it was my first Standard of all time Very HappyVery Happy
Those under me are my serveants who will fulfill my desires until the end of time
They just don't know about it yet :v

I had known DDR before but didn't really get more into it (and BEMANI) until almost a couple years back, when I saw a machine at
my little brother's birthday party at a bowling alley. The panels were very hard to hit but I was still inspired as I had a new interest!

"its like if you had a real mom"
A friend of mine had it for the PS2 when I was ten. I really enjoyed playing it for some reason.

Even now I'm not sure what it is about the game that's so damn appealing.

Mildly interested at people playing PIU, then got to play DDR Mario Mix with a controller in 2007.

6 years later, mustered up the courage to try PIU myself, got hooked, eventually moved to DDR, never looked back.

Long story but...

When I was in 5th grade, my local mall's movie theater had a DDR EXTREME Machine there. Didn't play it because I didn't care. Around early middle school or so, I downloaded stepmania after seeing a random SM video on YT of some guy playing "Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye" impossible stepmania song. Also for Christmas, my friend Giuliana got DDR Hottest Party 3, which was like "wtf?" in my mind. I never though that was possible. After hearing a rickroll I tried to stay away from that game for as much as possible. My major break into the game was when I bought MAX2 on my PS2 and loving the game for the most part. I then bought SN2 and kinda liked it. During my SM days, and also when my good friend used to live close to me. I didn't have a way to play SM on the go so the best I did was download some songs and a OpenITG beta and placed it in a USB. I couldn't play heavy for crap and the songs I chose to take with me were meh. I played in the arcade for the first time after watching Iron Man 2 in a Disney Movie Theater. It was a 5th mix with a bill acceptor! My first song was .59 Light and I failed it for crap (couldn't play properly). Added to the pressure was that my mom was there and told me not to use the bar. I input a second credit and played Cafe and passed with a C, and then tried .59 AGAIN and still failed. Later on, we went on a trip to Naples, FL. On that trip, I ended up playing DDRMAX2 arcade version. (the EXTREME machine was turned of for some reason). Ended up getting decent scores on several songs on Light from that. I also played other games at that arcade. When word got out that ITG2 was very close to me. I got excited and went to play. When I got there, I saw some things probably don't ever wanna see again. It wasn't a dedicab first of all, second of all, the pads were being worked on, lastly, no USB support. Sad I tried it anyway and got scores ranging from awful to decent. Never went back after that. Some time later, after figuring out that PIU was more fun, I started playing THAT and just never went back to DDR. (I would have played ITG if I had the chance) I quit around the time of my freshman year of High School sadly. I tried Pump again sometime in 2011? maybe? And now in 2014, I came back after downloading Stepmania 5 with the Simply Love theme and all of the amazing songpacks (that I liked) to go with it. Some bad memories was making my own simfiles of songs both my brother and I liked which were AWFUL. Thank god I never released them. I also made INSANE simfiles which were nearly unplayable on pad. Also awful.

Now I make proper customs with the right BPM and right note timing after some music experience in my HS guitar class. I still enjoy DDR as well as other rhythm games (that aren't Just Dance) to this day!

I didn't choose DDR. DDR chose me.

It was a game that non-gamers could enjoy and that you could have at parties. Now with Stepmania and custom song-making, it's even better than plain old DDR. Sadly, people would rather play Minecraft and WoW than something like this. It would suck to see Stepmania (completely) fade away.

I discovered it through ITG. My school used it for PE. So yeah. Blushing But I didn't know the difference between DDR and ITG. Once I found out. I got interested. The only DDR game I have is the 2010 version on the Wii. I know it's not good and I want DDRII because some of the songs were interesting. So here u go.

Watched the 100 Yen documentary and was amazed at the freestyleers.

I play PA style though.
