That means something's wrong with that cab. The cab at the arcade I visit often was an XG3 -> GITADORA upgrade and both sides work fine.

Yes you should be able to unlock songs through the app since this is the same eAmusement server as Japan's, so long as you have your eAmusement pass on hand.

A quick look at the iOS page for the app shows lots of negativity surrounding it.
Has anyone actually tried it out for themselves?

Well, at the beginning, the appli was filled with bugs (being randomly timed out, not receiving your points, game's reaction compleyly wrong), + the fact that you needed it for unlocking songs made a pretty bad reputation.
As of now, it's a lot more stable, though i do get some stranges reactions on mini-games from time to time (but I play on an emulated Android on my computer since my phone is too old for this appli, so it may have some influence)

Thanks for filling me in on it.
Up to this point all I know is that the GITADORA and DDR cabinets are way overpriced in Hong Kong, hence those areas of the arcades are pretty empty save for a few fanatics.

Huh, an American master recording in Gitadora? I think that's a first! (Dragonforce is British) All I Want isn't that bad a track either, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
Memeshikute is going to be interesting; I can never focus on the guitar parts because of the horns and drums, so I have no idea how that chart will be.
Love & Joy getting a rock version? Wow, I can't imagine it; it'll be cool to see in any case!

We can't say for sure it won't come to DDR (for example, in the everyone space war event, 梅雪夜 came to popn and IIDX yet both were unlocked seperatidely) BUT I wouldn't get my hopes up either

At this point, no one knows whether the original will make its way onto DDR or not. However, it seems more than likely that it will, eventually, creep its way onto the game. Although, it might not be in this event. Might not even be this year. But at this point, it's anyone's guess as to what gets included and what gets excluded.
