Ribbon1r.
Slipped right past detection by anyone. Caught something fishy with ribbon1 when seeing gameplay of the song in Dancing Stage Fusion, indeed traced it back to the Arcade version.

Anyone have experience making song "card"s like the ones beware made? I'd like to make them for all the supernova and beyond songs since many of them have symbols that don't show up (like "/" for example before artist names) I want them to look just like the font from extreme but I don't how to get the font to match in photoshop. Is there a font type/color/size combination in photoshop to make it match?
i used to use the DFGGothic EB font and then blur it a few times.Post #163 · Posted at 2015-06-16 04:27:10pm 8.8 years ago

i'd like to let it be known that i have not forgotten about the project, i'm just giving it a very long break, but i am collecting todo entries (as in, problems that need fixing). some that i've added based on forum posts:
- i've added SHiR0's reports of the dedicated menu buttons as something to investigate.
- as for minimaid support: i have pacdrive support as a todo, but not minimaid support. the reason for this is that the pacdrive works, and the minimaid is much more expensive, so fewer people will probably have or get one.
- BPM display glitch when changing sort modes: reproduced
- replacing some song backgrounds with ripped versions
- some songs miss beginner stepcharts
- seeing if i can improve parallel lights output (make it work on modern windows if it normally doesn't)
if anyone fixed something on their own, then please post about it here, so i can use the fixes (including source code patches if the code is changed)

I changed GlobalOffset to -50ms for both this simulation and my StepMania 5 with official AC DDR simfiles from this site. The simulation seems to be more offsync than the latter, with arrows coming in later. Is the arcade game like this too, or should the songs be resynced?

You might try asking twistedsymphony about how to do the pacdrive support. I was talking to him on FB and he was nice enough to send me a recompiled executable along with inpout32 and PacDrive dll files that will work with ID#1 Pacdrives, although I have yet to test it out due to lack of time.
One thing to note to everyone wanting to use a pacdrive is it's not going to be a simple plug and play kind of thing if you add support. If I get it working I could post pictures and instructions since I've seen nothing of the sort on the web so far, but from my understanding it involves isolating the pac drive's from the cabinet's light circuit (since the pac drive is meant to drive low voltage LED lights and DDR machines use a much higher 10v pulldown circuit which would fry the pac drive if hooked up directly)
I'm personally planning on using opto-isolators to completely remove the pac drive from the higher voltage cabinet circuit while still allowing it to control the lights.
If anyone else who has actually gotten the lights working with a pacdrive please chime in as I have yet to actually try to get anything working.

the aim for the sync is not to be like ddr extreme arcade. rather, it is intended to be "objectively correct", as in, where the first beat is, exactly, in the sound (ogg) file. if you need a consistent global offset to get it right, then that offset is in your setup, not in beware extreme. negative global offsets mean latency. for example in a usb converter.

Do you plan on adding the missing reverse permutations (ribbon1r, sun3r, timer1r, and wheel2r)? Ribbon1r is used in sync, Sun3 is used in Jam Jam Reggae, and Timer1 and Wheel2 are in Paranoia Eternal.
Beware, the doubles chart for DROP OUT (FROM NONSTOP MEGAMIX) is a mess. Somehow, it slightly derails during the pentagon tunnel background, and then goes out of whack in the rotating objects (especially kaliedoscope12 and 13);
(things start at 1:16)
Here's what the chart SHOULD be;
(Thank you Quickman for pointing this out, I thought Konami actually lost their minds for a second)

I think the entire Drop Out FNSMM Challenge Double is completely off (at least in the second half) in the simulation. Oh wait, and then there's also a tiny part before 1:16,

Just downloaded this yesterday and started messing around with it. Gotta say that this is one of the most complete StepMania simulations I've played. Everything is very nice and authentic to the original material. Love it!
One thing, though... how come Alice and Emi have replaced Bus and Train as the demonstration characters?

They are placeholders, since there is no way to rip Bus and Train as dancers. The way dancers are programmed is based on Dance Dance Revolution for PC, which doesn't feature Bus and Train as characters.

I still think he should take the route that Takuya did, and just record the "how to play" screen I've told him this.

Actually, the beginner dancer system is completely wrong. I've actually found out that it's really a series of images that are designed to go at 20-40 frames per beat, which explains why the characters aren't capable of freeze arrows/corner jumps.
EXAMPLE:
How do you apply the patches to other stepmania installs?

If I remember correctly, you have to open it and the theme will show your records, in the same way the CS version does

I mean, you could always just download the max. (period) simfile and stick it in the ex01 folder...
