NNRT Challenge has some interesting crossovers that aren't doublesteps.
But I didn't really like it much, heavy was more fun, haha.

That's why I did two charts with roughly similar difficulty; different charting style
Also I edited my previous post.

Wait I didn't see this before.
Actually they are footswitches, I kinda hinted that with the repeated pattern (e.g. URD, URD, URDDURD)
Measure 40, the second 8th triplet, D,U,L, puts me into a crossover like stance which then the stream starting at 41 feels awkward, either involving me to commit to a very fast foot switch or have to do an awkward double step.Quote: Paradox0
Euro-Romance
Some nice flow but I question some of the double steps used, as sometimes they continued onto awkward double steppy streams. 16ths where used pretty well

Measure 45 LRDDLRD, feels awkward for me, but i suppose thats just , my preference
Measure 53 LDUURDU, Similar situation as above,
Playing this again I will also comment on how the concept of the chart gets more difficult towards the end, for the better.

Challenge - Aside from some double steps...
Challenge - Aside from some double steps...
Can you point me to those doublesteps?
The beginning of the freeze stream starting in 66 LDRUL is a half spin which places my back to the screen, which is followed by the UDULDLRD 8th in 68. For me to hit that without double stepping or spinning/half spinning (something I don't enjoy at 200bpm+, I would have to completely reset myself so my right foot is U, while my left foot is D, but I typically would return from a spin such as 66, with my left foot U, and right foot D. This kind of guesswork foot switch feels really out of place in this chart, and is something I am not crazy about.
As for the off 16ths, it wasn't off per se, so much as the part of the music which was decided to be followed is deceptive (although probably purposely so). Starting at 83, you begin to follow the synths more closely, but when it is first used, the synth and keyboard are played together but as this part of the song continues, the synth slowly moves away from the keyboard by half a beat to a few beats over time. What I suppose was confusing is sometimes you would follow the keyboard, but sometimes the synth, and since they are played so closely together (and that I am pretty familiar with the song, atleast the keyboards), it seemed that you would have followed the keyboard more likely that the synth when they shared the same musical space.
Edit: As for the Speed Ups/Slow Downs, they made sense in context of the song. They weren't too gimmicky, and although I typically don't like speed ups/slowdowns if they are placed in a chart sensically enough or don't add too much out of place BS to a chart it really doesn't bother me much.

My response:
Well, one thing I learnt from DDR is that they don't always make you alternate feet. Sometimes after a stream (or a group of arrows), you have to start the next bunch using the feet you ended the last bunch with.
You should note that measure 40~54 is the footswitch area, which I hint with the DUL, DUL, DULDDUL.
Applies to measure 45 and 53 too, e.g. LRDDLRD -> switch your feet on the DD.
After lots of footswitches on down arrow, I put a up arrow footswitch on the end of this part; footswitches on up arrow tend to be harder than one on left arrow.
(what inspired me to do this is CELEBRATE NITE (EURO TRANCE STYLE) and UNBELIEVABLE (Sparky remix). There should be other charts with footswitch(es), but I forgot. osaka EVOLVED does this just once, and POSSESSION and U Can't Touch This have one footswitch-able part)
Actually all those freeze arrows around that part are intentional spins. You must spin on that LDRUL, if you force yourself not to spin you will end up with that.
IMO if you follow "UDLRDLD U jump" correctly, you will always end up spinning. Which is intentional.
Basically, I based the on the keyboard and the on the synths. I avoid charting the same part, because if I did, what's the point of the chart?

When it really comes down to it, I really don't like Unbelievable (Sparky Mix) or Celebrate Nite (ETS), so that may be an indicator why I didn't like the foot switch gimmick used in Euro-Romance too much, especially when it could be initially seen as a crossover if I don't read the arrows far enough. But that's the awesome thing but the Summer Competition, so many different people with different takes on types of songs create pretty cohesive yet unique step charts. I may not always agree with the ideas but most of the charts are usually pretty good. Besides 2 out of 427 arrows being not to my liking isn't bad.

So you take something that's good, omit what made it good, then call it shit... Okay.
