[StepMania 5.0.9 Theme] DanceDanceRevolution X2 (with Announcer and NoteSkins)

I'm so glad I downloaded this theme, it looks incredible. It's great because I'm super OCD with organizing my songs, and this theme automatically adds jackets to correctly titled groups and genres. Awesome theme!

I saw that someone asked if we can add custom genres to the theme. How can we do that? Or will that be in an update?


Edit: I'm having some graphics issues. During the songs, the stage number, song name, and bar that holds the score, and the score itself are all missing. And during judging, the score has disappeared as well (I'm convinced this is also a game problem because when I'm playing a song that I've played before, the score difference subtracts the entire previous score). I'm running version 5.0 beta 3, and I play on event mode.

I'm not having any of the problems you mentioned...

I think running this on an older version is causing your problems, try updating to 5.0.9 and see if that fixes your problem.

I've tried running it on the newest version, but when I try and play a song, right after it closes the "gates" and shows the jacket, it crashes and I get the error "[Lua panic] attempt to index a nil value"

the LUA panic is from the noteskins actually there something wrong with them

Thanks kenny! I'll try removing the note skins I have installed and see what changes.

Lua panic is mostly caused by redundant lua functions in current theme's Script folder..

Could be that also but when I played the game it was the noteskins that caused the error and it happened in multiple themes I used

Yes. Duplicate functions with sometimes different statement inside each.

Any idea how to find which one is causing the problem? It looks like there are two "scoring" lua files, one titled 04 scoring and one titled 90 scoring. I don't know anything about what these files mean or do.

And thinking back, I really don't think it could be a noteskin problem because I did a test with the theme to see if the problem persisted, and I didn't have any custom noteskins installed.

Check the lua functions inside those scoring lua files. If you found at least 2 duplicate functions, that rings the bell.

Try removing any of scoring lua file and see if it fixes the problem. If not, you might search those duplicate functions and delete one between them.

Hm. I tried removing each one individually, and removing both, but I would get the same message as before.

If those files don't contain redundant values, then what could? And do I just view them in a regular text viewing program?

I saw the missing graphic problem in your first pic. Some graphics are only in the old version.
Please make a clean install of sm 5.0.9. And be sure not to mix it with previous version of this theme.

The version of this theme that I downloaded and currently have installed on my older build is the newest theme version. The graphics problems are the only issue that I have on the old build. When I run the current theme version on the new SM build, it crashes and I get that popup. Not quite sure what a clean install is or how to do it.

It means that do not mix installations of neither sm5 nor theme by overwriting,
Uninstall old version before you install a new one.

Uninstall? But the version for Mac is just drag and drop into a folder. The only way to uninstall would be to delete the content. Is having two copies of different builds of Stepmania causing problems? Sorry for not totally understanding, I have very limited SM knowledge.

Having two different install will not cause any problem, just to make sure that they are two separate ones. Make a new drag and drop installation of 5.0.9, and decompress the newest theme into your Theme folder.
And move your songs / courses / noteskins / announcers into the new one.
Then test it.
