Best deal in the UK is equivalent to $351 USD, so I won't be getting one any time in the near future, so who's getting it?

Hmm so half a grand for the console and a memory card, then 50-100 bucks per game?

I bought my god damn xbox for 400 dollars and games at 30-50 bucks each when they hit the sales.
I'm sure as hell not paying for a handheld that cost more than a full console.

Plus sony is shit. I like ps2's and I have a sony TV, but that's it. PS3, psp, etc can all fuck off.
So can the DS.

Here the beast will be at 249euros and 299euros for the 3G version. The games at 40euros i guess.
But again, everything depends on where you go buy this (also some sellers give a game or memory card or a reduction if you buy the Vita).

In France i can find the same game with 15euros difference sometimes (some compagny like "Micromania" are pure thief/ass. I even have picture of the same "used" game with 5euro différence. Worst, a mario game used at 40euro and the same game, new in his plastic, at 42euro. Micromania blows).

Anyway considering how much stuffs (six-axis, double touchpad, double cameras, ect) there is in this portable console i think the price is decent.

Not even talking about how powerfull this thing is. I just hope good games will come out. Actually when i see uncharted on it, i know that we'll get nice games and that they won't do the same misstakes that they did on the psp (not so much awesome games. Better catalog on the NDS).

I think i follow this since 2 years now (psp2 rumors -> ngp -> psvita), i'll get it but not now. I never take a new console when it's just out.

If the price was 25% cheaper, I would consider getting it but not as of this moment, it's too expensive.

Too freaking expensive, I might get it too once the price in the market drops in.

I hope this flops so bad it forces Sony to lower the prices, like what happened with 3DS.

BBC's video on the PS Vita if anyone wants to watch:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/click_online/9697020.stm

Bump: Got mine for about 3 days now, much better than expected.

One thing that's been bugging me is that Sony insists you use the touch screen for almost everything, you cannot navigate using the d-pad, buttons or triggers. For example, on digital manuals that you view on the console, you must flick between pages and cannot use L/R on the d-pad to switch. Annoyed

That sounds incredibly annoying. Never mind that the game I'm most looking forward to probably won't use the touch screen at all...

Noticed a weird glitch today:

If you have a background download going on and:

1. Put it to standby using the POWER button, the background download will stop...
2. Leave the console to timeout into standby mode, the background download will continue...

Annoyed Sony...

PS Vita System Software v1.80 is out.

List of changes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Vita_system_software#Version_1

"Users can now control the home screen, as well as some applications like [Video] and [Music], with the PS Vita system's buttons."

And still the majority of in-built apps are strictly touch screen only, including the PS Store... *sigh*

Sony PS Vita still doesn't have an interesting game library at the moment at least for me. (except for Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 and maybe that Project Diva Game) but other than that, meh. (unless NAMCO will port TTT2 on Vita after it's release on Consoles)

Goddammit, Sony. Also, PSN accounts are now tied to the memory card. Meaning:
1. If the card dies, you're fucked.
2. You'll have an even worse time trying to play imported games.

You can use multiple cards, the cards are locked on one account until you format it.

Before the update, you didn't need to format.

God knows why they are making it harder for their customers.

I just stick with the Japanese SEN so there really is no issue for me. I bought it for 500+ last year when it first came out and I have 16 games on the system with the 32GB card. No point in going with a US based SEN now.
I don't play simulators. Only the real official games.

I'd do that if it didn't cost a fortune to import.
Bump: Oh dear, this just keeps getting better and better.

People can buy certain PSOne games on the Vita but couldn't download it but you could download it on a PS3 and transfer it over.

So those with just a Vita and no PS3 are literally screwed until they fix it.

more of a simulation question, but is thee a good DDR engine to run on vita yet? Something like SM or psp revolution.
Been thinking about upgrading my current psp 3000 but probably wont if I can play pspr or better haha.

The PS Vita has not been fully cracked to play homebrew so the answer would be: not yet.
