How did this thread get two pages deep without this?
Since I got it at WalMart for only 10 bucks I honestly don't consider this regrettable. Buying all the DLC would be.

You said they go unplayed. I try not to make assumptions, especially since DDR II (IMO) is the best US release in a long time.

Never buy a game that is based on a crappy animated movie without reading reviews first.
Because despite the bias, there are some gems that really shine through the shit.
Mickey mouse games were awesome on the Megadrive. Batman games are good, not that I've played them. uuuummm.. not sure of others atm but yeah there's a few decent ones.
Worst purchase for me?
Don't really have one. Aside from this one book I bought this year for Logical database design. That shit cost 102 dollars. I opened it once. And didn't even read it. I got a B- or something for that paper.
edit - it was a required text btw. I didn't optionally waste that much money.
Thank fuck I found the other subject's one that was gonna be 140 dollars for free in pdf form. Even then, I read two pages, ignored it for the rest of the semester and got an A- in the paper.
Hopefully I'll be able to sell it back to the shop when they buy back the old books next year.

You can try asking your professors to let you sell your book.
They might encourage students to sell your book, if it is the right.

I bought some YuGiOh game for Gamecube that I really don't care to research for who-knows-how-much at GameStop some years back because I was just learning how to play the card game and thought it would, well, have cards in it, which it didn't, I don't think. Played for an hour and gave up, wasn't sure if it was ever saving my file or not and didn't bother turning it back on to check.
I gave it to my cousin who loved YuGiOh. She just sold it back. Which I'm cool with, but having bought it in the first place sort of made me swear off buying games impulsively.
You mean The Falsebound Kingdom? Euuuuuugh. I don't remember how much I spent on it, but dammit, I want that money back.I gave it to my cousin who loved YuGiOh. She just sold it back. Which I'm cool with, but having bought it in the first place sort of made me swear off buying games impulsively.

You must not realize that Batman is actually from a comic book.

Impulse buying Bon Jovi's Geatest Hits collection, only to find out there was a Deluxe edition of it in the same store a week later.
Impulse buying Jethro Tull's 40th Anniversay Aqualung album without finding out there is a Deluxe edition with the album in 5.1 sound.
Impulse buying Nirvana's 20th anniversary Nevermind album only to find out there was a deluxe limited edition with alternate remixes from how the album was supposed to sound before Andy Wallace got his garbage hands on the stems.
I did buy the Bon Jovi Deluxe edition a month afterward. I'll most likely buy the deluxe edition of Aqualung next year. I'm not shelling out over $200 for the Nevermind album. I lost my opportunity with that one.

But yeah, now that I look up, pretty sure that was it.
I love how most of these are video games.

My most regrettable purchase would be Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. That game was absolutely terrible. The whole thing was just boring and the entire concept is just moronic.
YET WHY ARE THEY STILL MAKING THEM!!!???
My next regrettable purchase would be my laptop. I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 a few years back and it taught me a lot about spending money on expensive items: do extensive research before even considering the product. It gave me poor battery life out of the box and it could barely run Stepmania, let alone Half Life 1 (oh and don't even try running SM5).
Take it I use it pretty much every day and that it taught me a really valuable lesson in doing proper research for larger purchases, it just bugs me that I payed so much money for a really bad laptop

Buying bootleg anime series, the sister counterpart of the 14-in-1 movie DVDs (they're the "Why is Will Smith and Milla Jovovich with Luke Skywalker?" DVD covers you find in the internet sometimes).
I stopped buying them when I found out that they were fansubbed versions (with the notices and such). Boy did I get ripped off of that.
I don't even remember where I put them after the whole ordeal.

Dance Factory...
I thought it was fun creating mix cd's and collecting monsters...But then that just got boring and I traded that along with High School Musical Sing It! and MvC3 for my copy of UMvC3

I just bought all the DLC to the Hatsune Miku Project Diva Dreamy Theater 2nd.
3 new songs, 1 remix, 4 old songs with an added extreme chart, and a bunch of costumes.
Paid more than the actual game itself.
And all of that is included in the Project Diva Extend.
