[StepMania 5 Theme] [WiP] DanceDanceRevolution STARLIGHT

How is the theme going so far?

I'm in a bit of a bind with the theme at the moment. The theme still doesn't have a name and I need some help with that. Coming up with an awesome and catchy name is the hardest part about stuff like this so I wanted to ask you all if you had any ideas at all for a name. I'm trying to stay away from names that include "mix" in their name because it shows a bit of a lack of originality and also trying to stay away from names that are derived from Konami, SN3, X4 etc. If all else fails, I can just leave it as "Dance Dance Revolution" plain and simple but I'd rather try and develop a memorable name for it. Thanks in advance for the help.

How's "Eternal DDR"?

Isn't the ZIv theme called "Starlight"? So, why not just call it DanceDanceRevolution STARLIGHT?

He doesn't want to use "starlight" twice.

Yea thats the name I gave it on impulse and some are starting to like it. I just can't come up with a decent logo concept for it yet. And yea as Chewy said, I don't want to have to use Starlight twice but if there's a consensus on the name, I'll keep it.

Also this looks like a pretty sweet project. Once this theme is out I'm definitely switching over to SM5 for good.

Dan and me are working out the issues with the logo, and we'll decide what the final name for the theme is. I think Chewi's got enough mix names to tide him over for the next six months now, lol.

Update 1:
Because this theme is going to use the coverflow-styled song selection screen and because StepMania has yet to introduce official support for it (No way to call it exclusively through the metrics or the .ssc files), the musicwheel will display banners. What I want to do is make it so the old banners will still display correctly alongside the new album covers. And songs with no banner art all will get this beauty:



Now to figure out how to get the theme to usurp banners from songs with banners stored by the theme itself... (Read: You download the X2 songs form ZIv which have custom 256x80 banners -but- when you play them in this theme you magically see the X2 album covers instead). ^_-

Dan and me have finalized the theme's name. Needless to say it was obvious from the start:

Using coverflow musicwheel in music select screen is risky, as this will take memory 100% more in just 20 minutes.

That looks really nice.

Starlight is a great name. The text plus the artwork makes it even more appealing.

Perhaps on AMX, using backgrounds, without caching...

awwrs i came to late to offer a name. XD i realize it's late but i was just going to say something like Aurora or lunar lights for the mix names. because the theme had a northren lights feel to it. XD lolol yay so late to the naming party XD but i'm gald you guys settled on the name!
