OKAY I know this sounds like a weird question but hear me out!

Whenever I play DDR (ddr or stepmania) I can follow the rhythms extremely well. I'm just really good with rhythm. I'm sure everyone else here is as well but I don't know I can just easily hear and understand the rhythm and beat of a song thanks to DDR.

And now I want to learn instrument. I have an acoustic guitar but I got bored as hell out of it. Plus, my fingers are too big for the strings Tongue

That being said, could you recommend me an instrument based on the topic title and what I've written? Thanks! Also, what instruments do you play?

Possibly...I mean I had learned how to play musical instruments years before I discovered DDR, and once it clicked that the games were rhythm based, it was a freaking piece of cake.

Now learning how to read sheet music is something else, but once you learn the different types of notes represented in sheet music you should be able to figure out the rhythm pretty easily.

Of course the most realistic bemani game has always been drummania. Thank goodness I chose precussion in Jr. High School band!

Hmm, it depends. I'm a musician and DDR player. I can guarantee your timing improves by playing DDR, but, you know, DDR is played with feet and most instruments are played with your hands, which is different. Playing an instrument involves being concentrated in more than one aspect, I mean, when you're playing DDR, you are only focusing on stepping arrows while watching the screen, which is easy, but for example, piano, it isn't easy to learn how to use both hands (left hand as bass and right hand as solo), mixing both is hard and requires a lot of practice. Playing drums is quite hard in the beginning. After practice, learning most rhythm compasses are piss easy but sometimes you'll struggle with mechanizing the kick and hi-hat foot pedal rhythm while playing something alternative with snakes and toms. Guitar, in my opinion, is the easiest instrument that can play melodies, the hard thing of it is probably matching the strings with no error, and changing chords quickly.

In fact, DDR will help you in learning an instrument, of course, but it also depends in your discipline, skill and talent to dominate the musical world.

You might want to try Drums and playing Drummania. Drummania I think is the closest game to resemble playing a real instrument and many of the skills you learn while playing can be transferred over for when you play the real drums. Thats just my two cents though... the only thing that other music games can help you with is your timing really.

Drummania basically IS playing drums. But yeah, I used DDR to build foot-speed and stamina. And also teach me rhythm and timing skills.

DDR taught me how to Tap dance. Laughing Out Loud Just kidding Laughing Out Loud

I do learned to play the piano but then I started using my acoustic one as if it was a synthesizer or using it to make trance music
