Awesome. Hope the rules are better than the Top Ranker they did back in 2008.

DDROC Championships? You mean the 2009 and 2010 Konami US National Championships?

tbh with that one it's hard to point out exactly WHERE it went wrong. Because it went wrong on so many levels.

Oni, basically anything that had to do with Konami of America + US Tournament + DDR = HORRIBLY WRONG at all points....except for the Virginia School Tournaments, but that's only because it's for the school's, ANYONE here is capable of running something like that.

Unless they get their act together and actually hire some people who know how to handle/organize a National DDR Tournament, KoA will always get shafted with a long stick when it comes to DDR Tournaments.

Anyways, on-topic, i hope they put out a UStream or some online streaming video of this event >.>

They had me, but the installation base and user base of KoA-produced DDR machines have always made it impossible to effectively put on a national tournament that would match up to players expectations.

The closest they can realistically deliver is something in line with the DDRUK championships : independantly managed sattelite qualifiers held in suitable "pockets" of the country, which grant entry in one (professionaly-run) National Championship Tournament.

The actual tournament held at the end of it all would have to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars (in order to produce a show that justifies the means), but while that would be a blast, the qualifying system is impossible to implement in a way that will give accurate representation. Maybe 10 states would have a qualifier, with some of those states having to have 5 qualifiers each, and unless an event manager was on-site, and given complete logistical control over each arcade, the user experience would vary greatly in each qualifier.

The best 100 of each of the 5 areas (in other words, 500 people) of each qualifier will move on to the secondary qualifiers. The best 4 out of each of the 5 areas, 20 people, (8 and 40 for Copious and Reflec Beat) move on to the final round.
To get into this, you'll need an E-Amusement Pass, or access to E-Amusement Gate.

Dates that stay the same for all games:
-Primary qualifiers: 9/29 to 10/23
-Secondary qualifiers: 10/26 to 11/6
-Results announced: 11/7
-Grand finale: 12/4

Lincle
-Final round: 11/23

For the qualifiers, there is a specific set of songs that contestants must play. In this case:
-bloomin' feeling [H]
-No.13 [H]
-Red. by Full Metal Jacket [H]

X2
-Final round: 11/27

Primary qualifiers:
IF YOU WERE HERE (L.E.D.-G REMIX) Standard
Decade Heavy
Theory Of Eternity Heavy

GFXG2
-Final round: 11/26

Primary qualifiers:
Pink Bird EXTREME
君の知らない物語 EXTREME
衝動がえがいた どうしようもないストーリー EXTREME

I'd post info on DMXG2, but it's pretty much the exact same as GF; same songs, same final round.

copious
-Final round: 11/26

Primary qualifiers:
マスターピース EXTREME
On And On EXTREME
GOOD LUCKY!! EXTREME

TUNE STREET
-Final round: 11/27

Primary qualifiers:
夢幻ノ光 HYPER
くさびかたびら☆下克上! ~ 暗躍の樹海MIX HYPER
Electronic Or Treat! HYPER

REFLEC BEAT
-Final round: 11/23

Primary qualifiers:
SEED [HARD]
Wuv U [HARD]
Sakura Reflection [HARD]

Please note that this is an incomplete translation; there is still more to this that is beyond my abilities.

AFAIK all the songs have been unlocked in Japan by now. You shouldn't need to do any of those requirements.

The regions are Hokkaido and Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai and Shikoku, and Kyushu, Okinawa and Chugoku. Overseas players have been shafted on this one, it seems.

Damn, not even Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore? In the Top ranker 2008 they were included. Oh well. Thanks.

Edit:
Is there a page that shows the rankings of the players for each game. I know in Top Ranker there was a special page that showed the qualifiers' scores.

Well I found out myself. There are ranking pages for the event posted on the website.

Here's the one for DDR X2.
http://p.eagate.573.jp/game/kac/p/ddrx2/ranking1_1.html&area=0

I also found out that some how players from other countries like taiwan can enter... For instance my friends 513 and DFGH have entered the competition one being in the 関東 region and the other in the 近畿・四国 one.

I would very much like to enter the competition if it's possible. The qualifier ends by 10/23 so I need to register and play before than so the time is getting short.

I'm trying to register a Konami ID now and I hope it works.

Bump again

I made it into the tournament and qualified for round 2.

The songs in round 2 for DDR X2
are
SABER WING (Akira Ishihara Headshot mix) EXPERT
MAX 300 EXPERT
sakura storm CHALLENGE

Hope I make it to the finals

lol'ed at jubeat round 2.

The rules stated that in case of a tie game, winners will be decided on a FCFS basis.
And as some of you might know, jubeat is arguably the easiest game in BEMANI series to get a full credit (EXC).

So the round 2 qualifiers of jubeat have turned into some kind of "get EXC on all designated songs as fast as you can" race
(the qualifier will come to an end when the number of players who EXC'd on all designated songs reaches 8).
Here are the current results:

Hokkaido: ended in 4 h, 40 min and 41 sec; II-L (one of the 2 players who EXC'd all charts in jubeat 1st) finished in 3rd.
Kanto: ended in 30 min and 40 sec (just look at this, a round 2 competition was over in only half an hour Laughing Out Loud );
Y.S-Y (the first player to EXC all charts in ripples) couldn't manage to get EXC fast enough (13th), and was eliminated from the tournament.
Central: ended in 6 h, 5 min and 40 sec; LAV1S. (another famous jubeat player in Japan) finished in 1st.
Shikoku: ended in 8 h, 20 min and 13 sec; HO4.KT-Y, the 1st player in this region, is also the only player outside Kanto who managed to get EXC in Kanto's 0:30:40 time limit.
Kyushu: the only region where players "still" have a chance to enter the next round, but there's only 1 slot left.

Many players from Kanto are now criticizing Konami for starting round 2 at a time which most players have to work (as one of the winners stated that he got his slot by heading to the arcade instead of school), and for applying the FCFS rule on a game like jubeat. Oh well.
