My simfiles are SO underground.

Ok, I decided to try this again. Unfortunately, school is keeping me very busy with mountains of homework, so I'm doing this sort of different.

I'd put in Beginner charts for fun, but I guess if you don't want to, then don't. What I'D do is include them on the easier songs and then not bother if they either have an Oni chart or are past a certain difficulty on Heavy

I'd say no. Its less fun to make the beginner charts and its a bit time consuming. Light, Standard, and Heavy are at least fun at some degree to do.

Personally, no. I just play S- and usually ignore the other charts. This pack sounds really promising, by the way.
Since you're "unlocking" songs. you should try "missions" (for 3.9+ or SM AMX only) where you have a simfile called "Mission 01, 02, etc." and has certain steps. If you play it and clear it with the right requirements, they should unlock a song. Just a suggestion, you totally don't have to do this. I just think it would add a twist to the game.

One typically includes Beginner for the same reason Basic and Difficult are included. It makes the file more complete. But it's up to you.

Yeah, I'm with Aeron on that. Besides, it doesn't take much time to do a Beginner chart.

it's kind of strange to see Chewi do an obscure pack when the majority of his listening experience are singles.

Just BS a beginner chart to make the pack look complete. They take about 5 minutes to do each. It's annoying, but it's not like they're hard to create.

I don't add Beginner charts 'cause I am sort of a DDR traditionalist. (Remember the old DDR days where thre are only , and difficulties?)

I don't spend a lot of time in doing beginner, apparently to the point that they have fallen to generic stuff. And I suck at rating easy charts at the very low end of the range.

That's how I deal with 'em, it's up to you Chewi to decide about their inclusion

I do beginner/light files for two reasons:

1) The aforementioned completeness of the file.
2) Friends who want to play but can't play anything harder. It gives them a chance to try pretty much any song on the list regardless of difficulty.

I like having Beginner steps in packs. Again though, the final decision is up to you Chewy.

Looking forward to this pack Chewi, but 2 things:

1. I would do Beginner charts for matter of completeness, and they take me a minute or less to make, so it's no big hassle to make them.

2. Will there also be 256/80 banners or just the album art ones?

Yeah, those will be included. I'm only adding the 256x256 ones just to practice making them.

OK cool, now I can play it on 3.9 without having to worry about compressed banners.

Chewi, if it saves time you could always not make them. Hell, you could do Expert/Challenge first then go back and do Basic/Difficult when you have more time.

Hey, a 3 day weekend and I'm not loaded with homework. I might be able to work on the preview pack this weekend. Don't expect anything, because it'll be a miracle if I release the preview pack by Tuesday.
