"TAKING IT TO THE PIE" |

Edits browsing is broken at the moment, I got this error :
Quote
{"Message":"Error during serialization or deserialization using the JSON JavaScriptSerializer. The length of the string exceeds the value set on the maxJsonLength property.","StackTrace":" at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.Serialize(Object obj, StringBuilder output, SerializationFormat serializationFormat)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.Serialize(Object obj, SerializationFormat serializationFormat)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Services.RestHandler.InvokeMethod(HttpContext context, WebServiceMethodData methodData, IDictionary`2 rawParams)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Services.RestHandler.ExecuteWebServiceCall(HttpContext context, WebServiceMethodData methodData)","ExceptionType":"System.InvalidOperationException"}
I can still manage my edits and upload a new one. Thanks for the heads up. I've fixed the issue and browsing edits should be good again

When I manage my edits, I am able to see the comments that I selected for it, such as "Relatively," "Jumping Jamboree," etc.
However, the comments do not appear when I select View Details. And the comments are not saved when updating an sm file; I'd have to reselect them again.
Edit: I took the time and rerated all of the Xbox charts to the best of my judgement. I also created a pack containing all single anddouble xbox charts for your convenience.

I'm not sure if this was brought up, but for the chart viewer, have you thought about having it auto-scroll like they do with the GF/DM chart viewer sites?
http://www.norihomepage.net/dm/dm10/mtra.html
They use a single long image as well and you could just use Javascript to scroll that in a similar way.
(Read: you could take their code and apply it yourself without too much trouble I would think)
Bonus, use flash or an embedded player to play the music while it scrolls (syncing would be a bitch if not impossible to cover all systems)
You could also use CSS to overlay a pulsating arrow casting over the scrolling chart, if you want to get funky
--
Update> If you want to see what I am getting at, I made up a mockup here:
http://aaronin.jp/simphoney/
It worked in Chrome for me though one person whom shall remain nameless was having trouble getting it to work (says it only shifted one pixel and stopped). Worked in FireFox, though. IE seems to barf at the CSS and the Javascript. Not sure about browsers like Opera or Safari
EDIT> I was thinking about how to have the arrow casting "flash" like in the actual game. Animated GIFs are unreliable, especially across browsers/OS so I thought a Javascript trick to swap the casting image every xxx milliseconds or something. It would be more reliable than an animated gif in terms of timing but it sounds like a pain to set up. If there is real demand for it I can take a crack at it, though.

The mockup works on my firefox. It did stop at one point, but it resumed when I pressed the Start button.

All right, I updated my mockup so it behaves a bit more like what people expect (spacing out the chart on 2x and 4x speed)
http://aaronin.jp/simphoney/
Note that I used Telperion's smexy generator to make the charts but it should ultimately work with any stepchart generator that spits out some kind of image or page.

I'm getting an error saying that I have invalid notes at measure 1 for every edit I try to upload. Also, I don't have any notes in measure 1.
Also, will these edits work on the Japanese Arcade version?
Edit: Also, it appears that Mei isn't in the directory.

These edits will only work on NA or EU version of X/X2.
For the other questions, let Daiz answer that :p
