Tolki> Where abouts do you play? I usually play around the Ikebukuro area but sometimes I play around Odaiba and Akihabara. If you are ever in the area we should meet up sometime. There are also regular meetups in Odaiba on Sunday though that place is still expensive (200 yen a game)

I'm at enjoy level 160 something? but that is more from regular play than anything. If you want to boost your enjoy level fast just play sets of songs you haven't played before (any difficulty)

Also, where was it hinted there would be golden week unlocks? None of the locals know anything about it and thought I was talking about the Amalgamation challenge and Silver Dream charts.
I live in Myogadani so I'm just between Ikebukuro and Akiba :p

In Ikebukuro I play at the ゲーム shop quite a lot (Supernova upgraded into X3) because they have 10 Reflect Beat machines and my gf plays it a lot ^^ Unfortunately the bar is quite in poor shape :/ Where do you play when you go there ? St Tropez ?
In Akiba I mainly go to the 東京レイザランド (leisure land) where they have very good machines for 100 yens a game. I'm currently going there every day after work (I'm at Jimbocho, no arcade Cry) to unlock the 5 days in a row song. I also go to the Hey! gamecenter when I feel like getting anally destroyed at P4U afterward.

I didn't know Enjoy level was behaving differently depending on the songs you played Surprised Since I only play 10~ songs, no wonder I don't level up that fast >.< Thanks for the tip !

it just seems almost everything is now unlocked right? anyway, let's get this over with and proceed to DDR X4.

Ugh. If this is true, then DDR X3 is the second worst DDR ever made. #1 is DDRX IMO. But still, it's a little bit too early, I think... (thinking that in the end the EXTRA STAGES songs are low in terms of difficulty is absolutely horrible.)
I'm a DDR player, but never make a AAA.
No, I'm not a IIDX player, but I'm a BMS player.
No, I'm not pnm player, and I haven't play pnm simulator yet.

then again, it makes sense why KONAMI thought of skipping this version for the DDR players on the west and all of these content are new for the Japanese players.

I assume the last EXTRA STAGE song is LONDON EVOLVED. Then again, I hope certain 2ndMix licenses will become available for play on X3 mode.

You need to play more DDR then. DDR X was actually a pretty good mix in terms of casual charts and a lot of extra content (Dance Drills AND Courses, X-Specials, X-Mixes). What are you basing your judgement on? Purely from the unlocks and the fact that all the unlocks were known due to the CS version being released about the same time?

They skipped this mix because they wanted a new arcade distributor for DDR, not because all the content wasn't fresh for US players (DDR X CS came out before the AC in the US). Look at all the from CS content that came out for SuperNOVA, there's probably more "from CS" songs than any other category.

I'm pretty much getting tired of people judging a mix based purely on what's revealed or how it's revealed. How about considering the review from people who've actually played the mix?

For me, DDR X:
1. Didn't quite balance in songlist.
2. There are too many X-Specials. X-Specials must be targetted to the "boss songs" that need more love.
3. X-Mixes is just a medley of songs.

What we need (or at least I need) is a stronger songlist with a lot more better songs. I don't hate the CS crossovers, in fact I love them, but it feels that is not just enough.

Oh well, opinion is opinion, everyone should have one, no?

I'm sure that Nephilim Delta will have a 17 or 18 Challenge chart.

I don't see DDR X3 as a really awful mix. At least in terms of KOs I'm really happy it's more of BEMANI artists than commissioned ones but I definitely miss Darwin and Fracus. I'm also happy that Find You Again(which is my favorite KO from DDR 2010) made it in and it has a very good DOUBLE EXPERT chart and I'm really happy about that.

What disappointed me on DDR X3 is that the lack of new licenses (then again it's because of the licensing needed for the 2ndmix Mode) and weak boss songs(but then updates still continue and I'll wait until the OST is released before I give my final verdict.)

Tolki> I play at Ikebukuro Sport about a block away from St Tropez. Lots of games but the place is pretty noisy.

There are 2 DDR machines there and usually there are such long lines except for the evenings though sometimes the weekends are a bit crowded.

The locals are still happy with X3 here but I do notice a lot more of the casual or only semi-regular light players when I go. I'm tempted to say there are more light and casual players playing X3 at this point in the life cycle of the game than X2, but not as much as with DDR X, that drew crowds right up until X2 was released.

A fourth IR? I wonder if there will be a 5th; there's enough time for one just before the OST releases. Still looking for the traditional Boss Rush course! Smile

Tolki> Sorry, meant *arent* such long lines. Did you mean Akiba Leisure Land 2 above Don Quijote in Akiba, the one with 5 DDR machines? That's a decent place though a bit stuffy. It isn't that long ago the price dropped from 200 yen but thank goodness it did. 200 yen a game, 400 yen for double mode was just too expensive. I can only head out there once in a while though.

It's nice the DDR series had a rebirth with DDR X and turned out to be the savior of the series in Japan, the number of machines was dwindling before that. It's nice to have easy access to machines...well relatively easy depending on where you live.

Chart-wise, the BEMANI course looks like the most fun course in X3 thus far.

I was talking about the «normal» Leisure Land (in front of the Mulan recycle shop), the Leisure Land 2 is way too noisy XD
They have 2 machines at 100 yens and they are generally free since the place is more known for fighting games (100 yens 2 game for TTT2, the only one in Akiba Big Grin).

I'll be there this evening playing 1-2 sets for the unlocks, around 8pm. PM me if you hop around !

That's what it looks like to me. An "extra stage" tour that rotates the extra stage songs from one region of arcades to another, starting with tokyo Evolved..

But this means that there are more new Extra Stages too, and probably original songs to follow the alternation pattern. Right? Konami wouldn't let us down by just introducing tokyoEVOLVED right? [/pleaselettherebenewsongs]

EDIT: Wait, it says that the extra stage tour will reveal the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE.
nice.

Let us down? Surely you don't mean the American audience that's over 3000 miles away who's not even apart of the audience that this mix is for. Surely you do mean the market in Asia/Japan where they're actually taking part in this event, right?

It continues to boggle my mind that people seriously think Konami bases the success of a DDR mix on how the over seas market perceives their content release strategy. It almost seems people make or break a mix based solely on how new/hidden the content is.

Think about this: DDR Extreme is considered one of the best mixes ever. There was no content release strategy other than unlock codes. A good chunk of the content was recycled from previous mixes.

Sorry. I meant more of the portion of the audience that hopes for new, harder songs. (e.g. the higher-level Japanese players) I understand that that's not Konami's main market.
nice.
