After I finish with Dance Praise simfiles I plan to create the simfiles for this game...

Is there anyone who wants to help? I can connect my PS2 to a DVD burner to rip data (audio / graphics) but only if I can get undistorted audio files (no game sound effects). Has anyone ever tried to do these simfiles before?

If you don't know it's a DDR spin-off focused on Hip Hop music. Some of the songs are long, some of the step-charts are hard, but it's an overall pretty good game IIRC. I think there were about 50 songs total, and there were hands as well IIRC. I've personally always loved Hip-Hop / Rap music although and I've always planned on creating stepfiles for this game.

After I begin if I decide to go forward I'll request a category.

Q: Should the games I've created stepfiles for be listed with official files, or should they be user files?

For reference I've (almost) done two Dance Praise games and I did Mario Mix simfiles and Jungle Book simfiles all based on their games. Yes I know there's a Mario Mix available with one missing song, but the other two aren't DDR games and aren't listed with officials even though the music and steps are game-accurate.

The irony of flow is that none of the charts flow.

Bozo is pretty fun, but other than that the charts were kinda boring.

and I lost my copy of the game, so I can't really help anyway :<

edit: Oh and Purple Perpendicular Phonics. That's ok too

"Give me a steady beat."
@hellrazor, tonight you dine in hell!

I think that there should be a Non-Bemani category for officials from games outside of DDR. This should definitely include the In The Groove series as well.

Good point, ITG does deserve to have official simfiles.

I've done many simfiles to official DDR games as well but those are where they should be in proper DDR categories.

Well I do have a few StepFiles of Flow: Urban Dance Uprising, The only problem is getting the actual files to be similar to the game because FLOW has more hip hop songs so the BPMs are going to be slower.

Waterworld
Purple Perpendicual Phonics
Get on the Flo (floor)
Control the Crowd

I have the songs to the following, but the steps are not from the game.
The only problem is getting the steps to be just like it because, the rating system is also kind of 1 - 5 (Which is basically to me to simple, and also not as interesting) and also the Lightning Button changes the steps. So, you also, have to make the Challenge Mode with Lightning steps.

I would LOVE to make steps for this since these songs represent my style of music. but I also want some of the songs on my stepfiles also but those are going to be the non official steps while I can strive to make official steps from the game on the FLOW. At least give a brotha a chance.

Well what I decided to do with Dance Praise which has poor steps was create a custom Challenge Chart for each song. I copied all the original steps then added a better one to tack on, we could do the same thing here.

Yes we can tack on better steps for the Unofficial steps. But for Official steps we should use the step chart from the game, but, also make sure the Challenge Mode has lightning steps while we keep the Light to Heavy steps official, and I'll add Beginners and Some of the songs with Challenge steps.

Yes everything you said is what I was intending including adding music videos.

I'm fairly picky about my work before I allowed someone to create step-charts especially Challenge step-charts I would really like to review their work. I am not familiar with your work, if you wanted to join (and I would love help after I begin if I can even get clean audio files) I would like to review some of your step-charts first.

I downloaded the pack...

Initial reactions, some awful song quality (some loud, some low, some distorted) poor graphics (I know mine suck to) but those two things don't matter since I'll get all audio and graphics from the game.

Played some charts and they were amateurish. The arrows were technically correct usually but patterns were over-used, synching was very bad (especially on a song called Single), thought I'd try out some of the harder charts and they were bad as well.

My response is no. I want a product that I'll enjoy and from your work I don't think I would enjoy playing it.

My suggestion to you is to play around with patterns, don't re-use the same ones over and over again. Download some good simfiles and learn what makes them good and enjoyable.

If you still want another shot you can feel free to post a Challenge chart to a Dance Praise simfile that is still a WIP and I will consider it (just in case the few files I played were the worst of the bunch). You can even check out some of my own Rap/Hip-Hop simfiles (although I do admit I'm not much of a graphics or stepper, I focus on synching) I can appreciate good steppers though.

But look at the bright side, eventually I'll get around to it and you can enjoy these songs on StepMania until then consider joining the FunkyMix contest at DDREvolved.com you'll get some constructive criticism on your simfiles and you'll be able to download a whole pack of (typically) high quality simfiles.

OK, From what I got, I think you are too much into the kiddie style, my files are created to test my stepfiling, and yes I'm trying to get better. Besides, I hate competitions, I like more freedom and some files on here are not that impressive. Because some of them I can make harder steps, and reusing of patterns, to me, is a way I throw people off. And also playing around with patterns is easy but these files are to me, my starting point, I've seen some of your files, and to be homest it's WAY TOO EASY

I like files that are repeative in patterns but also, go with the music, which is the MAJOR PROBLEM I HAVE on this site and DDR,.

And to be honest, I will NEVER go to a stepfile competion PERIOD

Well I don't DOUBLE the BPM of the song, some songs just scream to me to want easy charts and some songs deserve harder steps, each song is different. I have some files in the 9, and 10 range, and one 11, one 12, and even one 13 (I haven't passed the 13 yet) but typically I enjoy simfiles from OTHER people as long as I sync them accurately.

I have a feeling you aren't going to like what I do with Flow, since I won't double the BPM of the song and I do not want the challenge charts to be overly difficult.

Yes it is! I remember playing the song "I Remember", IIRC that song has Drum&Bass style beats!

I haven't begun ripping data yet so I don't have ANY .mp3's. When I do I'll make a category and put all the WIP files there.
