"Ambivalent Viennetta"
Right, something I literally found in the last ten minutes.

Remember Tooryanse (Tekno Children Mix) by Canton from Ultramix 4? Well, probably not. Either way, here it is:

Right, I've done some research and found it's based on the Japanese folk song Tōryanse (they use it as the music that played when it's safe to cross traffic lights in Japan). Now, I checked the lyrics and one of the lines is none other than the name of Asaki's mind-screw also in DDR, "Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini".

Yeah, the more I think about it, the less certain I am that nobody got this sooner.

In DDR2010, there is a mode called Dance Off, in which multiple players take turns trying to score the highest on a continuously looping song. Most of the songs are sections of in-game music, occasionally with unique content during the transitions. However, there is one song, called TO DA JAM (credited to U1-ASAMi), that isn't available elsewhere in the game. It's just a cool BGM-ish beat, but the interesting thing is that it contains several clips of the Max/Extreme/SuperNOVA announcer.

I recorded the audio if anyone's curious. (The in-game announcer is still audible in the background -- DDR 2010 lets you turn him down but not off.) I dunno, I think it would make a nice laid-back six footer.

Wii or PS3?

Xbox360. So... PS3.

Saint Goes Marching (Remix) is the only 4th mix license not present in 5th mix. I really don't know why it's in Extreme despite that though.

I also get what you are talking about, DarkFeline. Anyways, "SAINT GOES MARCHING (REMIX)" did not appear in Party Collection for some reason. Maybe that was because of racism and religion, I think.

"This hat hurts"
Decided to do some digging around...
-SKY HIGH was the only SOLO licence to appear in DDR Party Collection, DDR Extreme (Japan), and DDR Universe 1.

-The only SOLO licences to appear in Random games in the US are.....Together and Forever (SOLO 2000), Don't Clock Me, Dream A Dream ~Miami Booty Mix~ and SKY HIGH. Wheres Kiss Me (KCP MIX) and Kung Fu Fighting ~Miami Booty Mix~?

-Typical Tropical, Club Tropicana, and Temple of Love somehow made it to ITG and some spinoffs.

-CHOTTO KIITENA (ZANSHIN-NA MIX) was never ported to a CS version after its debut in 2nd Mix v Beatmania Link version.

-AFRICA is based off of Toto's cover of the song with the same name.

Not really. They just happened to license those songs.

"Give me a steady beat."
And go figure, ITG developers were DDR fans. There's also Sunshine (Known in DDR as FOLLOW THE SUN) and Tough Enough.

It even continued with Pro 2, ITG's PIU cousin, which had the following DDR tunes:

-Cowgirl
-Don't Don't Go Away
-Eternus
-GO!
-Operator
-Rave Until the Night is Over

Yes, please. That's like asking why Little Bitch isn't present in DDR Party Collection.

Petite Love never found it's way onto a CS version either, for some reason.

You see, Konami hates the SOLO series for some reason, which is why awesome tracks like Drill Instructor and Kiss Me never found their way outside of it.

I don't think they hate it, some of the songs were just iffy. All of the originals became pretty common songs, but every single license from BASS MIX was cut after Solo 2000. A lot of Solo 2000 licenses were in later mixes. The Kiss Me and Drill Instructor remixes were also a bit odd, plus there was already tons of E-Rotic and Captain Jack in the game. It might have not been worth the money.

"Charlie isn't real"

So, here's a little something that's been on my mind lately...

Does anyone here know either precisely or close to, how many songs there are IN TOTAL in DDR as of now? And yes, this includes songs that were removed from future versions along with CS versions too.

APPEND: So i took this list from wikipedia (lol) that had i would assume every single DDR song in appearance to what game they were in/are currently in. Copy pasta'd it to Word, numbered it aaaaaaaaaaand I got:

Approximately 1560+ songs in DDR as of April 3rd, 2012. I've found out this doesn't include the licenses in DDR 2010 and DDR II.

....that's a lot of songs.

Well...the other one has it all the way up to X3 vs 2ndMIX, i'll just list it for now as having 1560+ songs seeing it doesn't include some songs from FREEDOM and other HP games it seems...

Talking about Saint Goes Marching REMIX, I remember 10+ years ago hearing that and I immidiately think of a folk song.
Anyone knows what is the original song of Saint Goes Marching?
