Donkey Kong 64's DK Rap is very similar to Smoke's lyrical structure. Were Rare's composers DDR/Dancemania fans, or just silly coincidence? Maybe it's a parody.
Also, the ridiculously censored cigarette in a song called"Smoke"
"No one will ever tell the difference!" lulz.
There's so many posts in this thread, sorry if I post something that's already been mentioned. :T

Pretty sure the DK Rap/Smoke similarities are a coincidence. I didn't actually notice anything, at least. Besides, Grant Kirkhope (who made the DK Rap) is from the United Kingdom, and they hadn't even had Dancing Stage by the time DK64 was released AFAIK.
EDIT: Apparently they actually did have Dancing Stage, but it's still highly unlikely any inspiration for the DK Rap was taken from Smoke.

you know, you can dislocate your shoulder if you keep reaching like that...It's probably already been mentioned, but data for ORION.78 (AM-euro MIX) [as well as a few others like CUTE CHASER (MORNING MIX) & ON THE JAZZ, but we're here to talk about Orion] can be found in the game files for DDR Disney Channel Edition. The song is not included anywhere in the actual game. Shit, I'd buy the game for that song alone if I didn't already own it.

Today, I've found all of the Konami originals on DDRMAX2.
These movies are STILL orphaned. Cube11 and Ninja5 appear in DDR Ultramix, but that entire game uses utterly random movies for background scripts.... Secret Rendevous uses i feel's background movies for some incomprehensible reason. In any case, the other 9 videos are still totally AWOL.
The only hope I have is if one of the returning DDRMAX songs like LOVING YOU or ORDINARY WORLD take pity and use these movies. It's not out of the possiblity, since n00b_saib0t and DDRmaster2007 have accounted that some DDRMAX scripts have been modified. And we have La Senorita ending up with MIRACLE'S DDRMAX movies, despite all of La Senorita's EXTREME movies being available in DDRMAX2.
It seems hopeless, but I HAVE to find these videos being used. For beware. And the key to finding them is to try everything. Although maybe the "rare" Dancing Stage Megamix/Fever games also use one of them movies in the array above... but videos of those games are impossible to find.

Why not emulate Dancing Stage Megamix/Fever then? Then screen capture them yourself on PC or get someone to do it for you. I wouldn't mind contributing some video captures.

Matsuri Japan and all of its remixes were playable in Test Cabinets for DDRX, but they were removed when the game officially released. The difficulties for the charts on these songs are 12 (Original), 9 (Nonstop Megamix), and 10 (J Summer Mix (But I think it should be an 11, possibly 12)). I'm not sure why they were removed, but it could be due to the vocals being copyrighted, since Matsuri Japan is still playable without the vocals in the Pop'n'Music series.

Actually, all songs from SuperNOVA 2 were on the location tests. This means that all those songs have X ratings, and these were the ones used for the BeForU and members' songs that got revived in X2.

^ The BeForU/Kosaka/Noria songs that were revived in X2 received new ratings on at least one of their charts.

How come most of those were removed, anyway? I know that practically all the Dancemania liscenses were removed from SuperNOVA 1, but what's the reasoning behind most of the removals in DDRX?

Some of them were removed due to expiration of the rights for the lyrics and/or vocals. Others are actually unknown.

In 2002, Fox 6 did a report on the controversial imagery shown in DDR Solo, referring to the drugs (pills, syringes, etc) in the background video of I'm Alive and the alcoholic beverages in the background video of Club Tropicana.

^The hilarious thing about this report is that they cover just the use of pills & other drug-related content. "Sure, we can just ignore the rest, like the suggestive nurses, Samba De Janiero's background art, Sexy Planet, and all the other stuff!"
Also, the lady mentions at the end of the report that the other DDR games are still very friendly to families of all ages.
