ZIv Simfile Tournament of Immortals

Back with another Simfile Community project. This one however is a bit diffident. This will be a 32 man simfile elimination tournament (may be more if demand is high). Each round will have a theme to it that simfile makers have to make a simfile by. simfiles will be voted a la Summer contest style and the losing song/member is eliminated. (there is a losers bracket).

The winner of this tournament will get a grand prize. Will have co-administrative rights for the 2011 Summer contest! you can even say what the weekly themes will be

This idea was in fact the origin of the Summer Contest but however it would turn off newcomers. I was also going to do it as the Winter classic, but I thought with the holidays, people would not have as much time to make and judge songs.

RULES: (based from SC)

1. You can NOT vote for your own song
2. ALL SONGS WILL BE PAD CHARTS. They can be DDR or ITG style.
3. Autogen steps of ANY sort will NOT be allowed and you will be removed from the tournament
4. ONLY ONE SONG PER ROUND! Make it count!
5. must have at least - charts. Everything else is optional.
6. Banners and Backgrounds are not required, but they can only help you.
7. When uploading, put the round name in the simfile. (Example: [ROUND 1] PARADISE LOST)
8. All songs must be under 2:30.
9. All songs must be under the old 1-10 DDR or ITG's 1-13 Rating system.
10. In case on a tie, the tie will depend on how many votes the user made. (Example: if Member A voted for 2 songs as Member B voted for 0 songs, Member A will win the tie breaker) This will encourage people to vote. (debatable)
11. If a member is banned during the tournament he will be auto eliminated

VOTING: You will vote for your 5 of your favorite songs. each song you vote for will get points. song with the most votes/points moves on

1st - 5 pts
2nd - 4 pts
3rd - 3 pts
4th - 2 pts
5th - 1pts

ROUND 2 Voting: Members will be placed in Tournament style match ups. Just pick the song you like best for each match.

BEFORE YOU JUMP IN THIS... You will have to make a simfile in a weeks time. Keep that in mind.

Bracket/Times (1st date is when you can submit your files, 2nd date is when the deadline is for submission. You can even start work on them now!)


Members will not be showed who they are taking on until all 32 spots have been filled. then everyone will be randomized.

ANY QUESTIONS OR FLAWS YOU SEE, POINT IT OUT ASAP. This is an experimental project.

Alright, I'm in. Just a quick question, though; when you say "anything" for the first week, does that include DDR Edits?

As long as you don't mention the theme for the following week as you did in the Summer Contest. I worked on my doubles simfiles in two weeks since you wound up announcing a week before it started.

It wouldn't make sense for you to say that a simfile must be worked in a week's time if you mention the theme before the week starts. And by the looks of it, you already started to announce the theme for the first week before the competition has even started!!

Alright I see your point. I just don't want people jumping in on this and the have the deadline come with no progress. It was to make is so we don't get a ton of wins because the other person could not work on a simfile in time.

However seeing how this has a loser's bracket and the themes are already set, you don't have to work on a weeks time if you can start on them now.
