Has anyone tried this?:
When you getting ready for bed, Set your favorite song on your boom box or headphones on repeat or loop. Leave it on all night. The song, at least for me, sounds significantly different when you wake up to it in the morning.
Also, Chewphoria has noticed that songs seem faster in the morning, and slow down to their normal speed as the day goes on. Anyone else notice this?

I have herd a song on repeat all night, it did not seem different when I got up.When you getting ready for bed, Set your favorite song on your boom box or headphones on repeat or loop. I do notice at random times that a song does sound faster or slower. I don't know if that has to do with the morning or not.

I've noticed something like this:
Basically, during the daytime, songs sound pretty much normal. When I listen to songs late at night though, it sounds like they've been sped up by a slight amount.
It might have something to do with certain sensors in the brain reacting differently as the day goes on or something, but it's always seemed strange to me.

This has happened to me many times before, if I listen to a single song all day, & play it tomorrow, it seems a bit faster to me.
I wonder why

I noticed it as well. I thought it was just something weird that I'm just imagining, but I guess not

Yeah, I've been noticing that for a few years now. It'll either be that the song will have a different "speed" at different times of the day, or that the song sounds really different. I remember when I was younger and I listened to Jigglypuff's Lullaby from one of the Pokemon Movie soundtracks to help me go to sleep (yes...I know...stupid...but I was younger at the time), and kept it on repeat the whole night. When I woke up, the song played again, and I was like, "Wait...is this the same song?"

I haven't tried it, but when I listen to a song early in the day, it sounds about 5 beats faster.

I think the speed of the song usually appears to be different after listening to a much faster/slower song. Probably because your brain thinks the difference between the two songs is larger than it is. Also when I listen with the in-ear headphones that came with my mobile, if they're fully in my ear, the pitch seems one semitone higher for some reason.

Another thing worth mentioning: When you either start to fall asleep and stay awake or sleep for a short amount of time (i.e. an hour or less), everything sounds louder. I remember this from when my sleep cycle would roll around and I'd try to stay awake to watch certain shows (but now I have DVR and no interest in doing that).
When you first wake up, music sounds sped up for up to half an hour before it returns to normal. A few nights, ago I played my playlist while I was sleeping and when I woke upin Vegas at about 1 AM (which I would have done anyway; the music doesn't keep me awake), Waking Up in Vegas (Manhattan Clique Radio Edit) was playing. It was running at ~140 BPM (the actual BPM is 131) and I thought "WTF is this song?" (I even checked the clock to see if it was ticking normally ), but I figured out because I knew what was on the playlist. If it had been chosen from a library I didn't know (e.g. radio, Music Choice), I would have been confused for a long time. I stayed up for about half an hour, but strangely enough, that was the only song that didn't sound normal.
I've never experienced a change in pitch, though.

Yup, same thing happens to me, At one point during the day, lets say...If i play Shades of Grey in the day, it sounds pretty fast, but when i play it BEFORE i go to bed, it somehow sounds a bit slower than before...
...and when i wake up, it sounds faster than it normally was! Meh, don't know why but i have always wondered why it does that sometimes...heh, maybe this thread could give me an answer .

This is what I've noticed.
When I'm not playing DDR, the songs sound like their normal BPM, but once I've played DDR for a bit, and I notice that I'm sweating, the songs slow down. This happens whenever, as long as I can feel my sweat coming down my face, and I've been playing DDR.

Like Kynayo, songs seem slower to me after playing DDR, even if the song Im listening to is something I previously played. I haven't noticed if this is a "sweat-only" thing like Ky's, though.

Well, I haven't actually proven it yet, because whenever it happens, I'm always tired and sweating, because I've never just been tired (sweat comes too soon). So, if I can force myself to get physically tired and have it happen, without sweating, then it'll just be out of fatigue, but for now I have to say it's when I'm tired/sweating.
Oh yeah, my timing also improves when that happens. XD

This happens a lot when I DJ. Songs (that I hear over and over again) have different speeds sometimes. An example is the Macarena. I have heard this song so many times that its 104.29 bpm sounds like 107 to 99 sometimes. Annoys the shit out of me when trying to beatmatch.

I've noticed that too, Kynayo. In fact, I listened to several previews once and they all sounded slower than usual. It must be that, because I've only ever noticed their sounding slow during a 2-4 hour session. If I'm just watching people, the music sounds normal.
Here's what's weird: I played Gamelan de Couple once (on SN AC, but I've noticed slowdown on Extreme as well) and it was running at less than 150 BPM. I was even dancing at the same speed and I scored what I usually would.
I know that late sync can give the illusion of a slower BPM and that when songs are playing in my head, I tend to speed them up, so those might be factors.
