Not a meme. Not a joke. Venting. Keep scrolling.
I love my friends. I really do. And I love hanging around and having a good time with them. Really.
And, being a guy, most of my friends are guys. And the one thing most guys seem to be consistently on about is having a girl around. Paired with this, and knowing that my family is probably wondering when the hell I'm going to have a child of my own has brought me to an interesting line of thought.
Why? Every time I want to be around friends, and I hear day-of, "he's bringing his girlfriend" I think "Sweet, another member of the party to be pissed off about everything, all day"
And sure enough, half the group is quiet and buried in their phones, sending messages about "Goddamn Men"
Women, yes. Sweet. But I'll have to be completely honest with you when I say, I'm in no hurry to be controlled in trade for affection. And I'm in no hurry to ruin my friend's good time in trade for great make-up sex. Hell, I'm a wildly selfish person, and even that's too much for me.
I dunno, I feel like the universe is telling me something. Like "Yes, you're single. And that's kinda sad at your age. But if you think about it, independence is great"

Being single is great if you don't think of it as "being single" and think of it as "one less load of shit in your life to deal with".

Eh, I still haven't discovered how having a girlfriend is but I'm feeling damn fine being single. At least you're not forced to care for your loved one 24/7

I still really love this video. So much.
I've concluded this background movie hates me...
Not only is remastering it impossible because I can't figure out the trick to, the songs it appears in (MORE THAN I NEEDED TO KNOW and NOTHING GONNA STOP), I have tried AAAing a total of 100 times combined... neither of them want to open up to me. So I've concluded the movie hates me, and does not want me to perfect it in any way whatsoever, even in the songs it appears it, let alone re-master it.
I literally got NOTHING GONNA STOP 100%, the AAA.... save for the last arrow, and to add insult to injury, it wasn't even a great, I got a fucking boo on it....
>.<;

I've never had a girlfriend, and i'm completely fine being single. I don't really understand all of the hype about "loving" somebody else. As long as a single person has good friends and partakes in hobbies/interests (i.e. DDR or anything you want it to be), then they should feel satisfied with their lives. I don't feel like i'm missing out on much by staying single.
Simply put, relationships are just too much responsibility. I still enjoy my freedoms to do whatever I want, whenever I want. You only live once, make the best of it while you're still young. There's no age limit on when you should start dating, regardless of what society says.

I FUCKING AAA'D MORE THAN I NEEDED TO KNOW.
:D And I thought all hope was lost.
Update:
I've beaten Amoeba2. :D
MORE THAN I NEEDED TO KNOW is the harder one in my opinion, but NOTHING GONNA STOP frustrated me because it looks so easy (no 16ths), but... it took 30 tries. I especially got irritated because I screwed up the last arrow after 10 tries after getting the rest all perfect, and I even lost my combo because I got a boo... I'm so glad I have these two done. I can't wait to see how things will go when I get a TV in my room and I can play DDR for the consoles.

I absolutely love being in love, but I understand why it's not for everyone. If you're happier single, there's nothing wrong with you, despite what society at large will try to drill into your head. However, I think a lot of people jump into relationships too quickly because they feel pressured to be in one, and when their hurried hook-up sucks, they think that's normal and having a partner is always a hassle, rather than them just not being with the right person.
I've found a fantastic match, but I think it's because I've always been very cautious, and waited until someone took interest in me who I really felt I could get along with. I occasionally wonder how often someone misses their perfect match because they're stuck with the first person that they had the opportunity to get with.
A healthy relationship shouldn't be like that anyway. Just do what it takes to enjoy your life, single or otherwise.

I may want to expound a bit.
I am one of those people who doesn't really mind being single. There really is just so much more going on in the world besides relationships. And it's really the experience that led me to that post that reinforces my belief.
What had happened was: I was approached, by a friend, to go out and have a good time at the local Oktoberfest. Since the last trip out there went so well, we thought it would be fun to invite more friends. It would also be a chance for me to break away from what has been non-stop work, from the moment I jump out of bed to the moment I return.
Rather predictably, most bailed, which is nothing but a bi-product of getting older. No worries. So our group comprised of me (big surprise), friend 1 and his girlfriend (friend 1 being the one who had basically planned the whole thing) and friend 2 with his girlfriend. Friend 2, literally every time I've tried to be around him in the passed two years, will leave because of his girlfriend. Forty-five minutes in, without warning (or better yet, having already said 'I'm not doing anything else tonight, let's hang out') will announce that he has to jump in the shower because something-something-girlfriend-something.
So, predictably, forty-five minutes in, he comes to us and says "I have to stop drinking so I can sober up, [gf's name] has just informed me that her parents are having us over for dinner." He then professed that he really didn't want to go, because her parents are very Mormon, and straight-laced.
Long-story-short, they leave, bringing our group to the exact roster it was last time. Which I thought would have been decent, since last time was a hoot. Until friend 1 and I notice that his girlfriend has become rather stand-off. Before I go any further, this particular friend is the closest I have. We've been friends since we were thirteen, and have been through a metric-shit-ton of bullshit. That said, a few minutes after his girlfriend suddenly storming off, I'm shown texts from her pointing out that he had claimed another girl was hot. This is where, Stanza, you've hit it right on the head. The only other girl with us, let's face it, is just not attractive. And the conversation preceding this drama had nothing to do with women. Racking our minds, neither of us could remember a moment where we mentioned any other women. Really, any conversation any of us ever have is like a combination of barely funny Top Gear and something Jerome 'Thug-Love' Jones would put out. Definitely leaning towards the latter.
My friend and I tried to enjoy the day without her, but her drama continued to interject until we just decided it was best to collect her and leave.
I'm leaving out quite a bit of friend 1's story for his sake and to get to the point: I can only thing of one person I know, who's girlfriend (now wife, unsurprisingly) will not try to end a get-together because of something that pertains to them and their lives. I've been patient with this over the years, but it's becoming incredibly consistent. Perhaps it's me, you say. Perhaps I shouldn't trust people when they say it isn't, but perhaps people just shouldn't bring their damn girlfriends along.

I think the main reason I don't feel like I need a relationship is because of how much people get distant from me as soon as there's a romantic side of their life. They don't even give a shit once they've got some girl they can post Facebook statuses about all the time.

Great job! The closest I've gotten to a AAA is 3 Greats on Can Be Real , so you're clearly a step ahead of me. What kind of pad do you use?

Oh... sadly I simply use the keyboard... My current housing conditions prevent me from being able to play DDR with the pad, and additionally I don't have the adapter to have my pad be routed to the computer. Think of it as DDR-beatmania.
It still takes effort to do this, though. I mean, I struggled on at least 3 songs (one of them was embarrassing because it was the cute happy HERO by Papaya, and I somehow kept failing that one).

^It's okay. I use a pad when playing on Consoles, but when I do Stepmania, I resort to keyboard because I don't have enough room in the Living Room for a pad (and it's a carpeted floor ). Here's a list of a few of the songs I've been able to PFC on keyboard:
-Cartoon Heroes
-Paranoia KCET &
-Yozora No Muko
-Senorita Speedy Mix
-Gold Rush
-Blind Justice
-End Of The Century
-Ska A Go Go
As for other songs, I've beaten almost all Official DDR Songs on Keyboard (except Egoism 440 , which is too fast for me) with at least an 'A' or higher. As for when I play on a pad, I can clear most stuff upwards to a 15, and I can usually get AA's on anything 12 or under.

You've played every official DDR song? Including stuff like LOOK AT US/BYE BYE BABY BALLOON/MY BABY MAMA/DA CAPO/etc.?

^ Well, probably not everything, but most stuff. I have all of 1st Mix through X2 saved, and most of X3 and 2013. I also have the Club versions and Solo versions saved onto Stepmania. Yet, I don't really have any of the stuff from the other mixes, like Hottest Party and True Kiss Destination.

You guys AAA songs as if it's really easy to do. That shit's difficult to do. Yes, I've AAA'd tons of songs before, but not 100% OF A SONGLIST.

^ Oh, I think I didn't phrase myself correctly. I can't AAA every song ever, of course, I was referring to just completing them. Also, this is in reference to when playing with a keyboard, not a dance pad (which is obviously harder). Sorry if I wasn't making myself clear.

Gawd, I haven't even AAA'd a song on foot in my life, I consider it a victory if I get a 'C' on a boss song. All you people and your AAA'd MaxX Unlimited, etc.
