Wonder if it is going to be the same machine that the DDR UK crew hid from everyone else.

DDRX will be 'returning after Friday in preparation for ATEI' so this pretty much nails it on the head. Unless they intend on having more then one cabinet.

I doubt they would have two test location cabinets in all fairness.
UBeat only has two test cabinets to permit 2-player gameplay.

Good turn out this year then.
Well, DDR X is there, so of course there will be loads of people there =D
Im assuming that the DDR X will be complete unlike the 'secret' location test

Bump: Carried over from DDR:UK, KONAMI's press release on DDR X:
Quote: KONAMI Digital Entertainment B.V.
A new revolution is set to take Europe by storm!
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (Konami) celebrate the 10th anniversary of the DDR series with the launch of Dance Dance Revolution X (DDR X) in the EMEA territory.
Aiming for a truly global release, the brand name has been changed from Dancing Stage to Dance Dance Revolution for this and for all future models.
Set for launch in Spring / Summer 2009 the game is presented in a brand new cabinet, with upgraded hardware including a new 37” widescreen LCD display.
The song list is the bigger than any of the DDR machines released in Europe, bursting with over 350 music tracks, including some of the favourites from previous DDR games as well as numerous new hit licenses. In addition, there is a host of new features that are sure to thrill the huge existing fan base as well as attracting new players.
The new version has kept many of its original features that made DDR the best amusement dance machine on the market, but with a fresh new cabinet design and some new and exciting surprises, DDR X is set to blast away both existing and new players.
James Anderson, Product Planning Manager of Konami, commented that the initial test figures have shown the machine outperformed the current products on the market, this is very encouraging since the software is not complete at this time. We anticipate the final version of the software to be even stronger.
For more information on the product come to see the European launch at the Konami booth in ATEI 2009, stand 2140

Meh, at least it should be a final version of the cab? It would suck if they just had a location test with the 13 new songs...

We are all worrying about that right now. Let's pray to God they've updated it to the latest EU version.

It's certainly gonna be interesting regarding this new "heightened security" whether anything shall actually be done, or whether these press reports serve to act as a deterrent.
I am finding it hard to understand how they plan to individually vet each person that walks in through those doors on a case-by-case basis. The manpower required for such a task is uneconomic.
In recent years, the people tasked with the job of scanning the barcode for each person as they enter the hall eventually enter a semi-comatose state and don't notice anyone that walk in.
I suppose they could single people out based on attire. For example, don't expect to get into the exhibition dressed up as your favourite Naruto character or in some kind of furry cosplay.

So, does that mean DDR X should be released in the US around that time as well?

I would say sometime before that time, OR Konami can screw with us by releasing DDR X in EU first, THEN they release it to "US" next On another note: Well tomorrow is the first ATEI 2009 day, let's hope for some pics and vids guys
