I did.
It's amazing how Pennsylvania is a Red State in general but the little blue speck called Philadelphia in the south-east corner denies many a Republican candidate 21 electoral votes.
Oh yeah. Obama won Ohio a little while ago.

i'll start voting when they get rid of the electoral college bull shit, or atleast fix it. why the hell is arizona, with its capital city being the 5th largest in the USA, only worth 7 meanwhile other much smaller states are worth 20-something? being from AZ, my vote doesnt mean shit, and politicians treat my state as such, they dont care about winning us or our votes. also, in the 2000 gore/bush election, the guy with the most votes lost. yup, bull shit system. i aint voting.

Also being from PA, I see the same thing. Well, it certainly looks that Obama Yomama is going to be stepping up to the white house.

The electoral college is valid. Stop blaming something you don't understand. The electoral college is based on the number of delegates that are from your state. AZ only has 7 because your population is relatively small. Get informed. Or are you saying that AZ should have more votes than New York because it's geographically larger? Even though New York has about four or five times the population of Arizona.If the votes were based on the popular vote, everyone could come together and vote some clown into office.

I fully expected to vote, but there were some very last minute...complications due to the fact that I recently changed my address. Not that it really matters though, because I'm not really inclined toward either candidate so my vote would've been kinda...yeah.
Oh well, theres always next election.

bull shit. even with the electoral college, if you can convince everyone to come together and vote for the same guy, the same thing would happen.
anyway, thanks for the info i needed on electoral college, but i still think its invalid. it SHOULD be popular vote, plain and simple. i'm sick of my vote not mattering at all. because of electoral college, the single vote of someone from new york is more important than that of a single vote from arizona. that isnt right, i dont care how you try and spin it. if it was popular vote, then the votes of those in a less populated state would actually matter.
and from what i remember in high school, electoral college was put into place to ensure that the less educated people at the time wouldnt elect some dip shit to office. this isnt really the case now, people are more educated, and most can easily see through bull shit(except those voting obama. seriously, socialism doesnt work, its been tried, he's only going to screw the country over if he is elected. ask anyone who came from a country with socialistic medicine how well off they were). i would vote for mccain if my vote mattered, but it doesnt.

Obama isn't exactly what you would call a socialist. He is for the socializing of some systems and not for the socializing the entirety of America's wealth. I still don't understand why you state your vote doesn't matter because it does, since the majority of the votes will determine where your electoral votes from your state go towards and from the looks of things at the moment, Arizona seems to be leaning towards red.

That'd be quite tragic, a history-shaking election ending in a history-shaking tragedy.Also in the 2000 election, Al Gore may have won the popular vote but that was because of high-density states like California, New York, and Massachusetts that voted like 70% Democratic. That's another restriction of the electoral college. The fixed number of points that each state has prevents gigantinormous states like those from rocking the vote. The reason Al Gore didn't win the election of 2000 all fell on Florida, remember? He dropped out and gave the election to Dubya EVEN THOUGH he won the electoral votes from Florida after but the republican Supreme Court at the time didn't allow the recount.

Also, it seems as if Obama has taken Virginia and Florida. Landslide victory? Obama has California for sure. Yahoo!'s projected count is Obama 247 with 51% of the popular vote - McCain 120 with 48%.
